Accepted a major promotion at work! I’m very happy! It’s in alignment with where I want my career to go! Information services at the junction of human services.

I’m just genuinely feeling so much better lately. So much more relaxed, happy, like reliably in a good mood, engaging with my hobbies a TON, interacting with people, my bones feel good.

I’ve been feeling so endlessly good lately, outside of the expected downs from PMSing. I feel so much better than honestly ever before, like very consistently. Engaging in my hobbies, MASSIVELY less anxious, way more capable of social connection.

It’s okay to value your health and ability to create over the safe paycheck. Like obvs it’ll be scary, but things will always be scary and the time will pass anyway.

Can feel my trauma melting away at new job. I know I’ll eventually get new discomforts cuz like working inherently brings discomfort, but I’m so glad to be on a better path

Alright so this is related but not exactly to the question. I really try to identify the root cause of my discomfort and reduce my contact with that. So, trying to align my life with less big feelings rather than exclusively focusing on releasing after big feelings happen.

Cuz like I was aiming towards a research job just in the for profit world cuz idk I just didn’t realize that there was a viable nonprofit research job market in town.

Also I am deeply deeply glad I’m in the new space too. I. Two weeks in and I’m so relaxed and supported. My bosses speak my language re: education and culture of care. They’re happy that I’m critical of information systems and are excited I bring a systems brain into play to stress test their

non profit helping field again, to be honest I’m like maybe I’ll just stay nonprofit. Maybe I’ll just suck up the lower wage ceiling to stay in a space where I don’t have to see my humanity or human body chipped away for profit.

YES IT IS AWFUL. It’s like living right there at the grody edge of capitalism. Just. And like tbh I might just stay nonprofit for a while too because like I just. Something about that exact situation you’re describing, it just makes me sick the longer I have to be there. So now that I’m in the

(And also yes I am happy to rant about how it’s BS that in order to have access to this type of job folks need a bachelors degree because literally the customer service and detail needed here is like 15% of what you utilize daily at grooming and the system is RIGGED)

Yeah that’s craaazzzyyy. No way in hell. And I presume no health coverage either. Yeah like deadass the last place was like haha I pay SOO good. And I was like girl be real, there’s no Bennies and 45k does not cover life or limb. I know it’s the systemic privilege of education etc, but now I’m

they want someone who can meet people where they are and identify needs. The bosses are really assertive about making sure staff is supported and not taking on too much work to prevent burnout, because they need low turnover specialists. Everyone is kind, collaborative, supportive.
