Feel a little bit bad - found this chrysalis in a pot I'm emptying. Put it down to take a picture for identification purposes and immediately a jackdaw came and grabbed it. Oh well, I guess a baby jackdaw had a nice lunch

Got back home last night after time away...this morning it seemed the boiler was borked. Thank goodness for living with an engineer - reads the manual, identifies the error code, huffs and looks online at the problem. Then pressed a button which didn't appear in the manual and boiler appears healed

I remember being taught to ride a bike the first time I realised that he'd let go of my saddle and I was cycling on my own. Today I had the perspective of the person doing the saddle-holding. Working with young, first time workers and you suddenly realise they don't need you holding the saddle. Wow.

First time cider-making since we revamped the kitchen room. Humongous sink was a very good choice. Fully opening bifold doors enabled us to set up the press in shelter but with plenty of circulation space. Gigantic decorating sheets left by our builder were awesome for covering the whole floor /1

Huh! interestingly useful digital took from HMRC. A complaint I made is overdue (from the usual SLA) so had resigned myself to getting grumpy on the phone. Logged into GG to get numbers etc and on the front page was a "when can I expect an answer" tracker. Actually quite useful!
