An update. It's been a year~

I'm taking the time to try and put into words the chaos I've been through this summer. At the start of the year I was made homeless, and turned to my friends of a few years of support to stay in dublin and be near my carers and partners and the life I had been building. But I watched as everyone one of my friends put their heads down to focus on their own lives, and I was forced to find housing elsewhere, leaving dublin, my dog and I did a few months of couch surfing, where I ended up with a lot of mixed feelings, being grateful for the friends that took me in, but honestly, felt a little like I was taken advantage of while vulnerable. Little expectations were sprung on me and talking about my limits of what I was capable of with the people who took me in simplu soured relationships. I lost a huge amount of trust in my peers, and developed a prickly paranoia that ate away at me.

Moss (my dog) and I found home in a co-op project in the countryside. I used most of my disability backpay I had saved to buy a car and do it up for sleeping in, and spent my summer on the land and travelling with my car as my home. A couple of weeks ago, on a venture down to dublin, my girlfriend and I got attacked by two aggressive and homophobic men who approached us and felt comfortable grabbing at us, blocking us from leaving, and yelling slurs at us in view of multiple members of the public who all did nothing. Things got heated,

but...I was carrying my cane and am decently trained up. By the time the guards arrived to break things up one of those pieces of shit had lost his two front teeth. But this shook me and my gf quite a bit.

I didn't have a lot of time to process those feelings as I was trying to keep up with commitments, and within a week tragedy had hit again. My dog and dear friend, who had been by my side 24/7 since we were made homeless together slipped out onto a busy road and was hit by a car. He died on the spot in my arms. We've had a funeral for him, and he was buried surrounding by people who love him. Honestly, I'm typing this all up to try and reconnect with my feelings. I'm surrounded by good people who are working with me to see me out of my car and housed in a campervan made cosy and winterproof as the weather turns bitter, but that work and pacing myself to see it done has disconnected me a lot from feeling my feelings and processing properly. Instead they're waiting above me like the sword of damacles. I'm writing this out to try and reconnect me to those feelings a bit, but I doubt they'll sink in til I'm fully housed for winter.

I will say, that despite this year being one of the hardest and most hurtful of my life,

I've also seen some intense resilience from a select few people who've stuck by my side. I've had partners drop everything to be by my side, sticking with me as relationships shifted from living together and caring for one another became long distance. I've had a group around me working hard to build their standards of care, both in terms of physical labour and emotional labour, so that my needs, along with all of ours, can be met as a group. I've been doing work with friends I never imagined could be done, explicitly as a unit. It's taught me a lot about what life can be and has my hopeful. I've been feeling my body recover, living in a space where I can work at my pace. I've gotten to butch the fuck out and use power tools to solve problems, collapsing at the end of a day smelling like sawdust and sweat. I've felt strength building back in me, on all fronts. This summer has hit me hard, but I think I'm coming to realize just how tough I am 💪💕 Stay thinking of me. I'm rebuilding my life one block at a time, and smut is a part of that, but it won't be a priority for a long time to come. But any sweethearts who wish to help a girl through a rough point would be adored and appreciated. I gotta buy a log burning stove and solar panels this week. They'll wipe my safety net of savings out, which is worth it, but a scary concept. So if easing a tough little dyke's mind is something you get a kick out of, please throw a girl a bone xx
