I get this stupid smile whenever I think of Klapka because I have this core memory of Excelblem's exasperation of not enjoying the pet name of "The Klapper"

I did this a while back for an anime Discord I lurk in, a very real conversation I had with myself was "I really shouldn't make a third of this list Watanabe works, but Cowboy Bebop is up there for me, and Carole and Tuesday was neat too..."

Marvel Rivals has gotten scrutiny with the way they depict Storm. Lack of legendary skins, her recent summer skin having a lazy MVP animation. It's an odd look when on the other side you have Marvel Tokon having Storm's most gorgeous depiction yet.

Ramparts of Ice has a line where two characters tell a fella to off themself and its NBD but boy howdy Bakugo does it in My Hero and that's stuck to his character forever.

I think about the way some of my fave content creators do blogging and it inspires me to chat more about silly things that go on in my life. ATM I've been poking a lot at Mina the Hollower, love rat game. Very Legend of Zelda-y with a coating of Symphony of the Night sprinkled in.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective It was a couple years ago that a buddy bought me the PC release of this game. I ended up streaming it for the next few months for a separate friend who's never experienced the game before. What a spiritual adventure this was. "Play Ghost Trick"

Void Stranger Me and a friend have fell down a long, winding rabbit hole with seemingly no end in sight. without exaggerating this has been one of my favorite video games to experience, solid soundtrack, a very curious flow to it. Consider what may be down the void yourself.

We made it to an era where anime is something people watch in large droves in theaters, including adaptational films. Films that can capture child and parent alike. Yet around my circles are people who vent all people care about are children's media, that it can't make for a good defense.

Which, I know it's the usual "Complaining about complainers" bit, but I task myself to think constructively when I can, and every so often I feel the tug to be a stream monster. *It would be so easy*.

I know the current critique (IE, the same argument since 2012) is about the current style, but even then Awakening, Fates, Three Houses and Engage all involve different design inspirations due to different art directors. Notice Echoes is missing from this discussion.

Saw on my XTL that people were debating how anime Fire Emblem is, It's actually quite fascinating to look back on the series as the NES/SNES era were full of designs harkening to Gundam or LoGH.

Stolen from Twitter, Lopunny has edged out as being my number one fave over Flygon! (I still love Flygon a lot, my child, my tropical friend...) Dragon is also high up there as a favorite type for me, but Fairies are associated with the moon and how could I deny my love for 🐇

There's discussion on my X TL about toku fansubs, and while I don't mind glitzy subtitling... I associate them moreso with TVN, which is notorious as a fan subbing group for their inaccuracies, even down to changing whole ass plotlines at their worst. I dunno maybe I lost my nostalgia goggles.

I typically say I'm not a fan of goth fashion, and honestly I'm not sure what happened in my life for it to become not my vibe. But Osaragi is consistently peak character and the missing formula this whole time? Just let a gal have one brain cell, incredible.

19. Favorite Overall Character So I sat on this for a while since I couldn't really think of a particularly funny answer... then it hit me. I already like May's design a lot, but Sapphire is just so spunky! Incredibly fun lass.

💫Kimba @lightningkimba.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

18. Favorite Villain Team It USED to be Skull, but Team Star has not only my bias for its name alone, but it has some of the cutest darned characters under their wing as well. I too wish to abandon my school life to join this gang of adorkable ruffians...

16. Favorite Elite Four/Kahuna Shoutout to not just Larry for being the GOAT GL/E4 member, but Olivia herself qualifies for both! I'm so sad there's so little art of Olivia, her style is just fantastic? (And yes, Ming-Ming is inspired by Olivia, of course she would be!)

15. Favorite Gym Leader/Trial Captain "Your eyeballs are MINE- caught in her Electroweb!" "Your Pokemon look ready to cook with gas!" Double feature! Iono's design is just, so precious. She's a gremlin with colorful hair! And Mallow is just a sweetie too! Both so delightful friends, love em!

14. Favorite Professor One of the chillest guys, has a cute wife, he's a dad, he takes care of Ash in Alola, makes a league for the region... Is there anything Kukui CAN'T do? Maybe not wrestle, like I'm pretty sure Masked Royal has him beat there!

13. Favorite Rival "You? Me? Battle, yes?" There's actually quite a few rivals, especially in recent years, who've been SO much fun! But Nemona's sheer energy takes the cake for me. She really is Latina Goku, she just wants someone who can keep up with her in Pokemon battling, adorable!

Nemona ultra rare from the Paldean Fates expansion

💫Kimba @lightningkimba.bsky.social · 07/12/2024

12. Favorite Trainer Assuming this means trainer class, probably Super Nerd? There's not a lot of CLASSES I like specifically, but I do remember liking Conway in the anime for being a quirky but very appealing nerd. That's how you make a fun side character!

110

💫Kimba @lightningkimba.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

11. Favorite Gigantamax Form "As long as you never give up, dreams will eventually come true." Of course I'm going to like the walking Gainax reference, I wanna see this footballer show someone the the full force of Nono-Riri.

Cinderace VMAX from the Fusion Strike expansion

10. Favorite Galar Form This one's tough since there's two I like a LOT! But I think Slowbro's the safest best - Slowking used to be my favorite of the Slowpoke line, but Galarian Slowbro is just so cute? The fact it even locks in in battle's also a fun touch? What a guy!
