I too lost my last job to Gen AI. Though they didn't actually replace me outright, they just figured they could give my role to another person who wasn't vocally against it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And then a little bit later laid off even more staff. Including those who *were* into it.

A reminder that Agents "don't go rogue". This is criminal behavior and at the least- gross negligence. Altman as well as multiple other Open AI employees should simply be in jail. "we're so dangerous" is a naked marketing stunt. Shut them all down.

Criterion was one of my most favorite studios before EA bought them. Then we got a few more good years and then after Paradise everything was pretty much a vertical drop down. Incredibly sad. The naming topic here is spot on.

Just got out of the new RE movie, and a friend described this as "The Fury Road of horror movies". I feel that. What it translates to is: light on story, heavy on scenarios, rollercoaster of absurdity. Loved it. Really happy to just have *fun* at the movies lately. See it with friends.

Just saw Coyote vs Acme and my verdict is: It rules. WB tried to kill it, but it's a modern day Roger Rabbit. Full stop. Not a perfect movie, but fun, hilarious, and deserves support instead of being canned for a *tax write off*. The love in this movie is on every frame. See it. #coyotevsacme

Google on the other hand was awful and still is. I was only able to get traction by tagging "teamyoutube" on X, because my google was associated with a YT account. You can do similar if you have one. It took 3 tries because thats also a bot. But I froze it too. www.forbes.com/sites/daveyw...

Fyi the cupcake character is one created by Loryn Brantz, who has this to say about Buzzfeed using it without her permission.

I am horrified and disgusted by BuzzFeed taking my character, The Good Advice Cupcake, and giving it to an Al platform. My time at BuzzFeed was marked by continually being taken advantage of and lied to. They repeatedly assured me in good faith that they would never do anything with Cuppy without my input, yet offered me no legal options, insisting that I would never need them. The news that this character, who is based on my own personality and whom I created as a microphone to spread love and positivity, has been taken and turned into a soulless Al puppet feels like having my intestines pulled out of my body.
Somebody leaked the news to me early on that there were talks happening, and I pleaded with the CEO Jonah Peretti directly not to do it. Instead, he tried to talk me into signing an NDA. Obviously, I did not.
This is an assault on artists everywhere.
I encourage you to boycott BuzzFeed and any Al-produced or adjacent animation.

As I just got a ton of devs now following me (thanks!) this is your warning: DO NOT download any demo unless you speak to the person directly to confirm.

If you have a Creative Cloud subscription, they created "Creative Cloud Pro" for AI usage- more expensive than standard- and added you automatically. check your subscriptions immediately. And even after you catch it, it's massively obscured on how to fix it. So I made a guide. Should be illegal

Hack update: -Discord accounts and affected servers all frozen (pending recovery) -gmail account frozen, google refusing to return the email because the hacker changed my birthday to reflect "child" status" even though they have determined the email was hacked. -computer reformatted. back to it.

As a follow-up from yesterday: if anyone here knows somebody at @discord.com , I need to speak to an actual human. The help bot will not provide any help, and multiple people have now been compromised with multiple servers having to go down because of it. Long shot, but worth a try!
