I support this call. I've seen evidence firsthand. At one of my schools, two of the worst bullies devised elaborate games for torturing animals to death. They enjoyed hurting other animals as much as they enjoyed hurting humans. It's a flashing red danger sign.🧵 www.theguardian.com/society/2026...

This is an extraordinary front page for a British newspaper to run. Donald Trump’s delinquency, derangement & imperilling of international security is somehow a stick with which to beat our own Prime Minister, who has negotiated the current horror show rather well. It is actually sickening.

Oh. Due process followed perfectly. The Tory politicians & client journalists lying desperately about all this were, of course, cheering & chuckling away when *two* of Boris Johnson’s ethics advisers resigned in disgust at his staggering contempt for ethics. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Since #bbclaurak is trending, let’s remind ourselves that ONE MONTH ago, the BBC invited Mandelson on for a soft-ball interview on her show. While HIS CLIENT , Palantir’s Louis Moseley appeared as a pundit Both, as I wrote at time, were ‘abject failures of journalism’ 1/

Richard Littlejohn wrote about fly-tipping in yesterday’s Mail, today Boris Johnson turns his attention to a bus driver sacked for beating up a thief. Anything, literally *anything*, to avoid addressing the now utterly undeniable shame & humiliation of their pathetic cheerleading for Donald Trump…

Given that the BBC endlessly gives platforms to lobbyists from the dark money junktanks without revealing their interests, shouldn't we be seeing such apologies every day? Better still, how about not doing it? If they want to appear, we should know on whose behalf they are speaking.

Grimly crisp illustration of the mechanism whereby toxic and unrepresentative social media shapes mainstream coverage. Prominent journalist logs onto X, sees claim, assumes truth, repeats in national broadcast from trusted mainstream news org. Happens all day every day, just especially stark here.

I wonder whether anyone at the Beeb has ever told Robbie Gibb, the Brexit-supporting board member knighted by his former boss Theresa May who polices the ‘impartiality’ of others, to piss off. Someone senior, whether on or off air staff, really needs to. This nonsense can’t continue.
