Also, a small suggestion: If you have a headshot photo that you like, you could add a picture of yourself to the About section. Coming at it from my solo indie dev perspective, I think it can help people to connect with you as a person. Worth it in this era of AI taking over everything, perhaps 😀

It looks really slick - I like the layout and navigation! One thing to note. When I clicked "Hear my sound", I expected the first item to play a snippet of your audio. I had to click the steam link to then play a video there to hear it. Would be nice to have some audio in the site there!

Thank you - much appreciated! 🙏 I did a bunch of checks with different DNS gateways, but wanted to get some not-on-my-computer checks just to be sure.

Screenshot from a recording of a podcast where two people are talking side by side. The person on the left is currently mid sentence explaining something he is very excited about while holding a midi controller device. The person on the right is just very happy learning about midi controllers.

Aaaand, I messed up my mic config in Obs for a long while. Sorted now, but had enough. I'll give it another go sometime soon though !

I gave this old Korg NanoKontrol a refurb. It was a lot of fun as a mini project and side-quest! I’ve been wanting to do this for ages. Spray painted it from white to black, and fitted out with 3D printed purple knob and faded caps. #3DPrinting #Korg #KorgNanoKontrol #MIDI #MIDIController #Maker

“Before”. Pictured in my hand, above a concrete floor. The controller is white with blue cut out backgrounds around each slider and knob. The plastic is faded in places and it’s a little dirty, but that’s hard to see in the photo

“After”. The controller is on my desk with a purple mat underneath it. It has had its pads cleaned, and the case is now solid black, with all faders and knob caps replaced with purple ones

Indeed yup. Not quite what I wanted for the projects I’m building, but a great project. There’s also SwiftCrossUI which is looking pretty awesome

... I'm also figuring with things changing with my work situation, and potentially taking on dev contracting, it might make more sense. A little torn though. It's a lot of money. It's also giving Apple more money, again. But it would certainly get used 🤔

I'm really debating upgrading my Mac. More RAM/Storage, and going back to a laptop after 2.5 years or so on a desktop Mac Studio. I have money saved, and the 14" MBP with 64GB ram, and the M5 Pro chip is within budget...

For the first few of days of daylight savings, I feed them somewhere in between the difference. So they get it maybe 30mins “late” on their clock, and 30mins early on the actual clock. Next day a bit closer to actual time, etc. eventually things get in sync

Big Hummingbird 2 improvement 🎉 We've managed to speed up your typical HTTP response by 25%, by batching writes into the network stack. This change, while small, increases the req/sec by 25%, and reduces the latency to a response by the same 25%. All that at 165K req/sec, in only ~20MB of RAM

Have you done much with local LLM's on the new Mac yet? I've heard some mixed reports on how capable things are for dev with things like OpenCode, so keen to hear if anyone's had much success with using them in this way

Presenting my talk earlier was an exception to my not-touching-computers rule for last week/this next week. Now back to staying out of Xcode etc and back to reset-brain things. This means art, chilling, and catching up on DIY/house jobs. I've some fancy posca marker pens calling me 🤩

If they could’ve let Peter and MJ be parents, and Miles be the young Spider-Man… eventually bringing Miles into 616, I’d have been happy. Hamfistedly trying to wind back the clock on all character progression and maturity was just urrrgh (I took it personally, I was a young dad at the time😅)
