I accidentally checked the Hunter book from the library. I realized right away that I had read it before, but I just kept reading because Hunter knows how to write a book! The other is a book about the work of artist Paula Wilson. A friend who knows the artist loaned it to me.

I love bee blossom (Cleome serrulata) and loved the reflection in the cattle tank. It was just after sunset & overcast, though, and I couldn't resist playing with the color, so... I got crazy and reimagined the color I was seeing in my head.

Seen on my walk/jog last evening, western NM at 7000' altitude. Prairie rattlesnake aka Great Plains rattlesnake (Crotalus viridis). I estimated this one to be about 10" long - maybe less - before it scooted under the plant and coiled. It did not rattle, or at least I didn't hear it. #snakes

Midnight surprise 4" of Tiger centipede (see ALT). Venomous: can cause necrosis but also medically interesting with peptides that have antimicrobial effects. The cats were having a lovely time with it - RIGHT NEXT TO MY BED IN THE WEE HOURS LAST NIGHT. It was returned to the wild, of course.

Our government is meant to be OF, BY, & FOR THE PEOPLE. There is no point in supporting a government that isn't working that way. There is absolutely no reason why citizens shouldn't feel free to fire, recall, #impeach, or depose anyone in government that doesn't understand WE ARE THE BOSS OF THEM.
