Saw a junco today and realized I don’t think I ever posted my little junco sculpture here! Paperclay and acrylic paint. The yellow is tacky I was using to secure it while I painted. Oregon morph juncos are literally the cutest little things

Ok so actually I went to the wrong counter and all this time they thought I had a dmv problem but I had an insurance problem… so many forms filled out for something I ended up not doing… oh well it’s done now

Wait they’re still making narnia movies?? I think I might go see magicians nephew if the production isn’t evil… I loved that book’s strangeness. And I never picked up on the misogyny bc I thought the evil woman was cool as hell

Follow up is this pine tree I saw in a yard that had been so pruned that it literally looked like this. Like a child’s drawing

Saturday I went to aaa to transfer car titles, they gave me the paperwork, I went home and filled it out, go back today and I forgot to fill out half of it and bring the legal stuff. Third times the charm? _(:3 」∠)_

i love in a columbo episode when you can tell the instant columbo decides "ah yes, this is the guy" and he turns on his whole deal

I looked into it and there's like a lot of old games. I'll get back to you with numbers later. If they start making games bad, I can play all of the old ones. Those are still good.

I am not fucking exaggerating when I show you the chop job they did on this huge tree I drive by often. I drew it a little too squat but it’s like 3 stories tall, it looks like a Dr Seuss tree now.

been watching an LP of Star Ocean 3 (I already know the twist) and reading about it, and I found out the writers were directly inspired by the novel Sophie's World! I loved that book when I was in 8th grade but i've never heard anyone mention it ever ;0;

i love that speedball made a block printing carving surface (speedycarve) that specifically advertises that it feels 'eraser-like'. that's what's up. kids who carved little stamps into their erasers in school with their mechanical pencils or compass tips raise your hand ✋

to use the phrase "going the way of the dodo" to describe something dying out naturally... dodos ONLY went extinct because of human activity. if you use that phrase you are unintentionally implying people are at fault.

(more than the human league one was my mom's but it was still a cool find)

looked through my dad's old vinyl records with a neighbor today and found some stuff i didn't expect! Like a Human League single with Love Action and an extended dance mix of Don't You Want Me?? And some albums with cool sleeves like one with moveable parts or see-through plastic

Ooookay my lizards’ power strip/timer has malfunctioned in the strangest way; the daytime plugs aren’t working but the nighttime plugs are? In the daytime? The clock still reads correctly so ??? So I have the lamp plugged into nighttime and I’ll see if it turns off at night?

feel bad for people playing dressmaker who aren't familiar with sewing because the very first dress can have a piece that has to be cut on the bias and it isn't explained, so i've seen people try to avoid "100% bias" because bias is a bad-sounding word

I know guy fieri would say “I’m a sucka for the yucca” but he meant yuca. However, I AM a sucka for the yucca because I think they are so beautiful!!!

000

takey @lifetakeart.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Important culinary info: Yucca and Yuca are different plants. The plant with edible tubers that you might have as fries is yuca (yoo-cah). The spiky plant with tall showy flowers is yucca (yuck-ah). It has some edible parts but is mainly ornamental these days.

just noticed there is apparently a live pigeon on the desk in Dressmaker? that's so lovely but pigeons really prefer flat shelf-like perches to thin round ones, they toes can't grip like songbirds 😥

takey @lifetakeart.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Everything’s installed in my computer! Took a while bc I had to take out the graphics card which made me think to look for my case’s evga bracket, which I sadly couldn’t find… I know it existed bc I remember for a long time wondering what this weird plastic thing was, but I guess I threw it out…

wait i'm dumb i meant external 5.25"

000

takey @lifetakeart.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

man needing an atx case with external 3.5" is so limiting. and of course everybody has fully see-through side panels. i can't do that it makes me anxious to see the innards all the time, and i don't care for decorative LEDs either. my country for a sleek simple case that's not ugly matte black.

100

takey @lifetakeart.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

so because my pc case is so large and heavy, without any handles, i thought i'd just check out what other cases are out there in this day and age. god the design landscape is so dire, at least with those with external 3.5" slots. the angles, my god the angles. panels that stick out.
