The fun in photography. Each viewer has a different view. I recently participated in a master class photography and it was really good to hear everybody talking about the same picture, it gives so much more perspective and insight.

I've been scrolling up and down a bit and I can't really decide either. The mono works really well, but maybe bump up the contrast on the color one to give it more punch and see what happens? A bit of fiddling with the curve(s) maybe? For now I think they do equally good to be honest.

There are some small buildings on the bottom of the picture, barely visible. I did consider cutting them off, but it looked weird. The background goes from a light orange on the bottom to an off white on the top left corner because the sun is somewhere on the left side of the frame. The flow of the somewhat oval gradient is about the same as the top of the windmills. The windmills are all silhouettes due to that fact. They look like thorny plants on straights stems.

I think it’s very difficult to prepare such small animals, but they have loads of them. Really fascinating stuff.

Yes, it is a real prepared skeleton. It is in a natural history museum in the Netherlands. They have it in a glass cage so the lighting is really good for taking this kinds of shots.
