Sanctions against the International Criminal Court (ICC) only serve impunity. They are an attack on peace and security. On the day the Nobel Peace Prize Committee honours Navi Pillay’s work for her contribution to the fight against impunity, the US government imposes sanctions on the ICC.

In its decision, the Chamber recognised the important contributions of victims and witnesses and found that the alleged crimes were committed as part of an organised and coordinated system.

Today, 16 July 2026, the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC) unanimously confirmed all charges against Mr Khaled Mohamed Ali El-Hishri and committed him to trial.

Access to justice starts with access to information. For victims and survivors in Libya, engaging with the ICC is not always easy. Distance, complex procedures, and limited access to clear information can make it difficult to understand how the Court works and what rights victims have before it.
