President Trump is renewing pressure on Senate Republicans to pass a House-approved bill to make daylight saving time permanent, but the effort is running into stiff opposition from GOP senators whose states would be plunged into early-morning darkness during the winter.

Trump, in a Wednesday post on Truth Social, said, “people are sick and tired of having to change their clocks twice a year,” claiming it “costs Millions of Dollars” and could be “bad for your health in the anxiety it creates.”

“This is an issue that Republicans, Dumocrats, and Independents can unite behind. I am asking Republican Senators to PASS THE SUNSHINE PROTECTION ACT, ASAP,” Trump urged.

It was a message similar to one the president sent last week and suggests he’s not about to let the issue go.
