I’ve said more times than I remember that Labour must provide leadership on showing the nation that Brexit has failed. Burnham has started doing this. He must continue until Brexit is where is belongs: in the dustbin of history.

Andy Burnham is right to say Brexit has done more harm than good, he is also right to say we need a closer relationship. It follows that means being part of the single market, and if you’re in that it makes sense to be part of the body that governs it. Rejoining the EU is the only logical outcome.

Millions have been wasted on the EES Facility at the Channel Tunnel terminal in Folkestone. It’s not in use, and probably never can be. Brexit is a total and complete failure and vast waste of money. It’s time to cancel it. If we can undo botched privatisations, we can undo botched Brexit.

The government’s approach to repairing our relationship to Europe is akin to gluing two pieces of wood together one fibre at a time in some form of bizarre, frustrating, expensive and time-consuming microsurgery procedure. The US is not a great advertisement for a written constitution. And I’ve long been of the view that Britain needs one. On its own, it solves nothing. Robust institutions that operate solely for the good of the people, are protected in law and cannot be made to do otherwise are equally necessary.

The only 4 constituencies where rejoining the EU wasn’t the preferred option were those of Lee Anderson, Farage, Tice and Lowe. In those 4, the top answer was ‘don’t know’. Confirming that Brexit has no real support at all. Not surprising for a total shitshow. And makes red lines seem very silly.
