Canaveral is a protected wildlife area, which won't stop the Republican lickspittles in the state govt from approving it, but it's an actual swamp and the ground is almost completely carpeted with gators, and I sincerely hope Elon personally does the groundbreaking.

A grassy bank next to a body of freshwater with at least a dozen gators on it.

is the violet, which is disappointing since it's labeled PV15, which is normally lightfast. My other complaint is binder separation in the carmine. I'm still learning with them and am mostly pleased, but it's very different from watercolor. I'm probably going to end up using them together regularly.

This is EXTREMELY niche, but for anyone who paints with #gouache, I picked up the ShinHan set of 12 designers gouache a few months ago and did a lightfastness experiment in my eastern Florida window. I taped it there August 1st, so it's been in the sun for two months. The only noticeable fading

A piece of watercolor paper divided into three vertical columns with twelve rows going across. The left row has a paint name with pigment number(s) and the other two columns have rows of paint across them. The paper was cut vertically so that the far right column could be exposed to light while the rest remained in the dark as a control. The stripe of paint labeled "violet PV15" shows significant fading, while the rest remains approximately the same.

Funeral homes are very used to handling uncomfortable families, and if you do want to have a private visitation for your own opportunity to say goodbye separate from the official memorial, it can probably be arranged.

We also discussed how to let a dog sniff your hand, leaving animals alone who move away, etc, but for teaching that anything other than explicit yes is a no, it was a very good place to start. People want to be kind to a little kid who politely asks "Can I pet your dog?" so they tend to soften it.

My kid liked to be tickled, and it would turn into a game where he would tell us to tickle him, then tell us to stop (which of course we did), then tell us to tickle him again, etc. It's a lot easier to teach kids boundaries when they get to have them, too.

The whole dominance concept came from a flawed wolf study of individuals from different family groups kept in a too small enclosure. Normal, healthy wolves in the wild live in social groups and care for each other. Choosing the puppy was absolutely the correct decision! 😊

Politico is one of the better mainstream outlets, and they still manage to normalize Republicans' dangerous behavior. I especially love the sexist description of Amy Klobucher "lash[ing] out" at Schmitt when he interrupted and yelled over her when she exposed his clownery.
