Give us a big beautiful park with a greenhouse, playground, gardens, fountain, where they can host festivals. (They won't.) (I just miss Bayfront and Gage Park in Hamilton.)

Hamilton has 5 sets of stairs up its escarpment! Very popular among pedestrians, stair-runnere, and even cyclists (some of them have tire troughs so you can roll your bike up!) www.hpl.ca/articles/mou...

Oh definitely! I've been doing beach picnics since I moved back (beach + sandwich combo supremacy), but I still yearn for some big shady trees and grass to lounge on. (Which does exists outside the city, and we do lots of day trips!) 🌳 🌊

We did a lot of picnicking in Hamilton in their giant beautiful urban parks and we want to prioritize doing that in Halifax this summer!

Spotted on my run route which only has a sidewalk 50% of the time.

I would say yes to walking on ice and clear pavement (although that wears down the metal spikes faster over time). Easy enough to put on, but that probably varies based on your boot size since they stretch over the boot. They might come in small and large sizes?

But fun! Private businesses were able to keep their sidewalks clear. 🤔

I took the bus to a walk-in pharmacy clinic this morning because I didn't feel confident about driving conditions. Pedestrian/transit infrastructure was far worse than the main roads (classic). 🙃

I know Halifax needs a lot of things that should take precedence over this (rent control/housing, transit, bike infrastructure, etc), but I'd like to add a public greenhouse to the list, a la Hamilton's Gage Park or Toronto's Allan Gardens.

Haven't seen much other information than this, but there is a Take Back the Night March happening November 27! What is the history OF TBTN in Halifax? I remember reading about ones in the 80s, but don't recall any in my (zillennial) time...

A little squid survey at the Bedford waterfront. The email is cracking me up. (Also I had no idea you could fish for squid in the basin?!)🐙 #halisky
