I came back to **66** messages all along the lines of "50-year-old guy drops his phone in the tub and becomes his 21 year old niece."

A 50-year-old father is at his computer when a window pops up; he answers a quiz, and as he responds to the questions, he is progressively transformed into a 21-year-old woman. His 21-year-old son walks into the room and falls instantly in love with her.

Wow. I'd say they don't make em like this anymore, but here it is right here in front of me. You really captured the Todd Strasser vibe. Just read through it after seeing your post and loved it! The cover art really gave me the push to try and check it out. I can tell a lot of work was put into giving off that vibe of books we read when we were kids. As far as what this project looks like it was setting out to accomplish, I give this a 10/10. I'm the type of person who is more than happy to give criticisms if I didn't like one aspect of something, so just know you won someone over who isn''t always so easy to please.

If you made something that was exactly like this again, I'd be more than happy to purchase it!

Interesting if true. This isn't the first I've heard of trans was being partly neurological -- making it, of course, a very much physical reality (if that is needed for you to consider trans was valid.) But this is not something that would have occurred to me.

Darren.fhd: Amputees often have what is called phantom pain. I just want to know, do trans people get phantom ball itx/ch? You feel it but no matter how you try you can't get it

Jayebutlermoore: Most trans women do not experience 'phantom' sensations after gender reassignment surgery because our brains are mapped to not have those parts there. Which is why we have dysphoria which is greatly relieved by surgery. After I woke up I instantly forgot the sensation of what it was like before -- it felt utterly bizarre and unbelievable that I was ever different to how I am now.

I just posted my Hall of Fame, but I need to go back and add a nod to this early inspiration, Goosebumps #17 Why I'm Afraid Of Bees. That was the kind of thing I was always on the lookout for as a kid, and a standout entry in the series IMO.

Bluesky has a "non sexual nudity" tag, but it never gets used. An experiment: here's a simple line art of a naked woman standing neutrally from my sketchbook. It barely looks like a person but you can see properly articulated breasts and nipples. Let's see what BSky thinks.

I've resisted showing anything from the WIP because I'm cagey like that, but I got back to this passage and had to express how much I love the last two sentences (*the build to it is kinda-whatever to me.)

Tuesday was a relatively normal day, if one considers wearing a lacey thong – which is what the last four remaining pairs of clean underwear in Allie’s drawer were – and a bra, “normal.” Simon was doing his best to move around the school confidently. Boys were checking him out. Girls were appraising his appearance. Teachers were judging whether he was showing too much flesh with his skinny jeans, black spaghetti-strap tank top, and midriff-baring flannel overshirt that kept falling off his thin little shoulder. He felt like he was passing on all accounts. Bear in mind, a C is a pass.

From the introduction to BEYOND OURSELVES, I pin down exactly who I am as a writer:

The great anxiety of my life is to only be one thing. My writing about transformations does not come from a dislike of what I am or appear to be, but out of a lament that I might only get to be one thing in my life. That I can’t try on different lives and selves the same way one samples clothes.
That’s a little melodramatic – nobody is truly stuck. You can change your job, your career, your relationship if you have cause to do so. But my problem is, you’re only one thing at a time: if you’re here, you’re not there. If you’re male, you’re not female, if you’re married, you’re not single, if you’re old you’re not young. My writing is my way to try to get around this and sample all the lives I am not living. I write about it, and I also write as it.

Wow. The great thing about following everyone's journey here is that I never know where something is going to go, but I did *not* foresee you and John becoming reconnected like this again. There's going to be a lot for you to navigate and manage with John in Dakota's body, and it seems like John knows that in more than one way – wishing that he and Mary had been so lucky to end up as Dakota and Dustin, his eyes scanning you, his recognition of the Inn's magic as intoxicating, the smirk when he noticed you watching him leave. I'm fascinated by TG reincarnations and am keen to do another story on that topic. Here are some anecdotes I grabbed from a scrollbait article years ago...

I was watching an old video of a jazz drummer playing a solo. No idea who it was, but he was really good. My daughter, probably age three, was looking over my shoulder for a minute before she said "I used to play the drums like that when I was a man."

"When our son was maybe 3 or 4, he described his life as a ballerina on stage -- from the lights to the music, to the applause. His next words chilled ne to the bone: ' I was at a party on a boat, and I fell into the water, then POOF I was here'."

When my then 2½ ye old daughter heard a loud boom, then jumped into a small low spot in our yard and telled "Foxhole!" with a terrified look on her face. She had never seen any movies about wars or anythong. Definitely had me curious.
