I loved The Odyssey. This is coming from someone (me) who took a whole class on the poem and its resonance in literature. But the one snag in Nolan's beautiful anti-war message was—after Odysseus realized the PTSD of war and violence—where Odysseus slaying the suitors was hella badass. Which: fun.

This World Cup final—and the feeling of everyone rallying around Spain—was so laden with fury at the Powers that Be. The game was anti-abuse/intimidation and an appreciation of sharing equally and favoring joy. Ferran Torres as an underdog to boot.
