On the Tewin development, @mark-sutcliffe.bsky.social says he doesn't want to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars fighting the development. "We shouldn't waste taxpayers money on a lost cause." Meanwhile in Kanata Lakes, he's spending millions to block 1,480 homes from being constructed there.

Those with the most growth are largely on costly/tax-inefficient greenfield development. Meanwhile, wards like Kichesippi achieved growth through infill. However, presumably these numbers will be spun as "suburbs supporting downtown".

I'm very concerned about the framing of "no tax increase". Some of the revenue strategies could have been used for other things that were victims of efficiencies. The hotel tax could have prevented the LRT from going to 10 mins off-peak. So was this plan truly optimized, or optimized for headlines?
