The local paper published the local library’s list of top 10 books checked out in 2025. Only one male author. From knowledge that women are more likely to read women authors, this tells me that women read much more than men. From personal interactions I can surmise that men don’t read. That’s sad.

I’ve given up thinking things will ever be the same. There have been too many flaws uncovered, and too much passive evil from the status quo. If decency ever does get another chance it needs to be firm, hard and fair, but still compassionate. But it will take a long time. We can be better.
