Isn't this something like -- I must re-read -- where Rachel Aviv arrived after considering Oliver Sacks' journals? Maybe it was rather forgiving of his fabrications/embellishments but didn't she argue that nonfiction writers all create narratives, by omission and organization, from the facts?

What if the antibacterial properties of various commonly used non-antibiotic drugs -- for depression, diabetes and indigestion... -- could drive the evolution of antibiotic resistant bacteria? It's a possibility worth taking seriously. My latest for Nature Outlook. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Are non-antibiotic drugs contributing to antimicrobial resistance?
Plans to address drug resistance typically focus on the use of antibiotics, but there are signs that compounds with incidental antibacterial effects might be part of the problem, too.

When you research an animal because it's big-brained and smart, you definitely need to treat it as well as possible. Yet owing to them being invertebrates, cephalopods don't everywhere have the legal protections they deserve. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
