We’re dipping our toes into the dev videos for TANUKI… our first one is about “why the hell does that TANUKI do BMX tricks?” Well… let me explain! Please have a watch! 😊 🦝 🚲

Imagine thinking you think you know anything about, or are a "voice" for games or the industry. When this very fundamental level of misunderstanding is how you present yourself. If you think anything even in life is this simple, you are indeed a moron.

After 11 years in Japan, I’m finally seeing one of my last white whales! Abingdon Boys School, TM Revolution’s rock band he made in the 00’s. I didn’t even know they toured these days. But, once in a while they do INAZUMA FEST in Shiga. Can’t believe there’s even goods!

Had the INCREDIBLE PLEASURE of being at the PocketPair x Critical Reflex party tonight. Where the live band played a song from TANUKI: Pon’s Summer! 😭 Safe to say, I was very emotional.

Couldn’t resist… usually don’t get to play stuff at shows. But, had to check out the GOAT Golf game on the new NEO-GEO. Sticks feeling great and the cartridge emulation seemed super solid 👍

Man, if you’d have told 2008 Liam, this how much people care about that obscure PS2 JRPG you were playing… lol. Mad.

Huge congrats to our friends @ukiyostudios.com on the opening of the Ukiyo Game Bar In Ginza! We’re super happy to be a small participant! If you’re in town for TGS, then you can head over & play TANUKI, but also get yourself a TANUKI PON’s SOUR cocktail to drink! 😊

Watched the Don’t Look Back in Anger documentary tonight and just couldn’t hold back the tears. What a special tour it was and the documentary makes me a very proud manchester man.

After months of work & collecting documents, today finally my Eijuken (永住権) permanent residency application was submitted. Just before all the changes, who knows what might retroactively be applied. Feels like a massive weight has lifted from my shoulders. Now the long wait, 優しいになる僕の岡山姫お願いします...

Are you at PAX West this week? Sadly, I’m not! But, my little guy is AND he’s got his own official PAX “Pon” Pin to boot 😊 Go check out the Ukiyo Booth (633) & play, TANUKI: Pon’s Summer, then you can snag yourself one of these adorable pins 🦝 👍

Well, by this time... it's passed July 5th! My 18th birthday. I had asked for a PS3 & MGS4 (but at those crazy launch prices, in fairness), my parents said no. So, I hatched a plan to say I was going to go get it from Curry's myself! (Me on my 18th... hahahaha)

Liam E 🚲 🦝TANUKI @liambme.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Wow. 2026 and getting excited about an MGS4 release. We live in some truly incredible times. But, MGS4 (while 3 is the GOAT) is a game I went to absolutely WILD teenage lengths to get when I was 17 years old. I've told the story before on podcasts, but let me recount you with my overwhelming drive

We dropped a new trailer for TANUKI: Pon's Summer during the @futuregamesshow.bsky.social last night! See the story side to Pon's adventure & what you're working hard towards! It's time to backflip your way to fixing up the Tanuki Shrine, ready to make sure the Great Tanuki Matsuri can go ahead! ⛩️

You’ve not seen hell, until your Japanese friends introduce you to AI rasta covers of famous Anime themes and Japanese songs. Absolute shite madness. You’ve never heard “Bluebird” so bad…

ReStory is pretty cool so far, my only nitpick really is... if you're going to do the "Japan" setting, get the small details right. Lots of just slightly off things. The Shrine on the right here having curved roofs, which is much more Chinese than Japanese in design. ALSO 2000 YEN RENT IS A STEAL!

How dare we rid the world of AI... it's the FUTURE! If we get rid of it, we deprive ourselves of true masterworks, like this take on TANUKI!

Went fishing today (2nd time since starting again after 15 years), got the fishing pond’s second biggest catch of the day - a 49cm Takashima Salmon. Safe to say, the greatest achievement of my life 👍

Finally getting chance to sit down and play Suda’s Samurai Champloo title. Never came to EU, sadly. I can totally feel the No More Heroes prototype here lol. Considering they‘re only a year apart that’s not a surprise. Repetitive, but oozes style (as it should) 🔥

The more I read it the more it makes me laugh... If that was a thing that WORKED, Ryan, don't you think they'd have already tried or done that? If it was that simple, wouldn't they have already tried? Huh, Ryan? Hmm, maybe if that was something that technically works... maybe, they WOULD HAVETRIED

0132

Liam E 🚲 🦝TANUKI @liambme.bsky.social · 14/07/2026

There's so much to pull apart, most of which is that it's just a massive listicle of predictable outcomes with no opinion attached whatsoever- "what if Bethesda makes another Fallout?" This part just immediately makes it easy to discount any understanding this person has of game dev.

I have complicated feelings on digital x physical - I buy everything digital now mostly & when I first moved to Japan, without digital I'd have never been able to play in English (region lock still massive then). However, the proudest moment of my career was seeing Cursed to Golf in physical form!

100% with you - at a glance I can from start to finish know exact what order and what is triggering. No idea how you'd do it any other way lol.
