One, I really don’t understand the urge by Trump to destroy the American alliance system in North East Asia over his war of choice in Iran. Two, when this ends, Trump will lose both the war in Iran & a key ally in North East Asia that is needed to manage China’s rise.

1️⃣The SAF Day falls on 1 July of each year, & it commemorates the founding of the SAF. It is a day: (a) dedicated for servicemen & women & many are promoted just before; (b) for them to reaffirm their loyalty to the nation.

This year's Parade allowed attendees to get up close with static displays, along with 3,000 SAF NSmen, Full-time NSF & regulars attending the parade.

Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing presided over the Best Unit Competition & NSman Of the Year awards presentations.

The SAF commemorated its 61st birthday with a parade at SAFTI Military Institute & it was officiated by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

On 20 Feb 2026, Singapore PM Lawrence Wong visits Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim, to a buka puasa, or break ‘fast’, together & also have a chat to discuss bilateral cooperation.

Each member of the SAF pistol team can shoot up to 400 rounds a day & over a year, ~20,000 rounds. “It’s not just (seeing) the target and (pulling) the trigger; there’s a lot of coordination between what you see and how you pull your trigger,” says LCP Teo Jia En (pictured).

1️⃣On 24 Nov 2016, a witness saw vehicles boxing in Amri Che Mat's Toyota Fortuner SUV in Jalan Padang Behor, less than 1km from his home. On 25 Nov 2016, Amri's SUV was found abandoned with windows smashed at a construction site in Bukit Chabang.

The Malaysian High Court ruled that the Govt & police had breached their statutory duties by failing to conduct proper investigations into the disappearance of Amri Che Mat. The Malaysian Govt was ordered to pay over RM3 million to his family.

1️⃣President Trump is a big disappointment with regard to his stance on Putin, & the war in Ukraine. Grateful the chicken-hawks have not done more harm. 2️⃣As Singaporeans, we will work with the Koreans, the Australians, & the Japanese to condemn Russian aggression in Ukraine.

I don’t understand why President Trump is referring to NATO — as a 3rd party, as if the U.S. is not a member. I suspect this is Trump washing his hands from the war in Ukraine — happy to keep making profits for the U.S. arms industry without understanding the meaning of being an ally.

1. The Special Boat Group of the Naval Diving Unit (NDU) operates the new Combatant Craft Underwater (CCU). The CCU enables below the horizon maritime counter terrorism ops, as NDU operators can use the sea as cover to be inserted stealthily.

The RSN has shown-off the capabilities of its JFD Carrier Seal (10.45m x2.21m x1.65m) that can carry 8 naval divers.

This NDU operated semi-submersible has a 345 hp diesel engine & it can:

In Mar 2025, MG David Neo was conferred the Knight Grand Cross (First Class), prior to his retirement ceremony. This is the 2nd highest award of the Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand. This award is a reflection of the longstanding relationship between Thailand & Singapore. #AnythingButRegular

The Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand consists of 8 classes, & it was established in 1869 by King Rama V. Grateful that Thailand saw fit to grant this award to Singapore’s Chief of Army.

1️⃣By land size, Singapore is the smallest country within ASEAN. 2️⃣Currently for the RSAF, there is no substitute for F-35A/Bs & we are on track to establish a F-35A squadron, a F-35B squadron, & a F-35A/B training detachment (at the Ebbing Air National Guard Base), by the early 2030s.

This is a F-35B operated by the US Marines at a FOB. This STOVL CONOPS is one that Singapore hopes to duplicate by the 2030s.
