I read once that modern finishes are so tough they don't show wear & tear unless you really crack up your guitar. I'm pretty careful with mine, but still...been playing the same guitars for years and they don't show it. I vote for reverting to the old finishes that show/tell the history of an axe.

The one key rule is: completely dry the pan after washing. Towel it off, then put it over a burner for a minute or two. Wipe a thin layer of veg oil on it and store in a dry place. If there's one thing a cast iron pan *doesn't* like, it's moisture. It'll rust in a hot second.

The soap thing is mostly based on the old days when soap had lye in it - very corrosive, it would strip away the seasoning. Modern soap doesn't use lye. It's fine to use a little when washing, just don't scrub it. Use warm water, a little soap and wipe clean.

Seasoning is simple - a little time consuming at first with all the baking & cooling, but you only need to do it once if done correctly (and you don't need to babysit it while in the oven). Lots of youtube videos to walk you through the steps.

I agree that KISS sucks, but not because they're less technically skilled than other bands/musicians. There are plenty of highly technically skilled musicians I find unlistenable. As for KISS, I just think they're bad songwriters. I find their music totally uninspired.

If this is just a scam, it's malfeasance. But this isn't just a scam. If it gets done, it's another leg of his arsenal designed to prevent removal from office - whether due to conviction by the Senate next year, or a lost election in 2 years. Come hell or high water, this guy will start a civil war.

Kind of makes you wonder if Trump invaded Venezuela for its oil specifically because he planned to start a war in Iran the whole time, but also that he was too stupid (or hubristic) to appreciate that Venezuela's oil infrastructure isn't anywhere near where it needs to be to stabilize global markets
