Teacher curiosity goes, too, with constrained curriculum. AND, this stance has devalued teacher expertise by outsourcing it to 'standardized' and 'objective' tests. Root cause of so much that's wrong with education is the very test that purports to tell us students and schools are failing.

A6: I am really looking forward to learning from what everyone shares. For me, I try to think about what I can do to dedicate energy to long-term, systemic changes as well as smaller scale, short-term changes. (1/2) #literacies

My bilingual parenting requires me to grapple with these issues and ensure that my child, as a racialized emergent bilingual, understands that bilingualism is a matter of the heart but also a resistant practice in the face of English superiority in the U.S. #literacies

A2: Love this! It reminds me how the communities, places, and spaces are such a major part of my own personhood & the identities I hold. Off the top of my head: mid-Southern, education, female friendships, learner, Whiteness (always something to critically reflect on), and so many more. #literacies

Some of my favorite English educators on one of my favorite education podcasts! This is such an important issue. The loss of humanity, intellectual community, & meaning caused by this obsession with maximizing test scores and human capital is/will be devastating to public education in the long term.

100%! Currently, I am struggling with how some community members are looking to limit our libraries (one reason being prejudice against homeless people). The way you broke down the weaponization of moral panic in your recent RRQ article has helped me proceed intentionally. So, thank you! #literacies
