The time had finally come for Stepney to return home. While he was saddened to be leaving, he was grateful for the opportunities both to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. He was also thankful at the chance to get some hard work in, and now had a long trek home to look forward to.
A massive crowd of engines filled the yard the day of Stepney's departure. Everyone came to see the Bluebell Engine off and give him their well-wishes. One place Stepney knew he had to stop at was Edward's station. There, the two caught up on what had changed since the terrier was last on Sodor. Gradually, the topic shifted towards the other Bluebell engines that had visited. Stepney got cold wheels as Edward brought up Bluebell and Primrose.
