Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe this is a real piece? I think it's originally "The artist's studio" where she's looking at a painting of a soldier, whom you can see sort of smugged behind the skeleton. I genuinely want to know if I'm wrong or if this is a paint over or AI edit.

It's always frustrating when I'm looking up portrait references and have to scroll and scroll and scroll to find different skin tones. I hunt for these references, but other people might not. I feel it adds to the lack of knowledge around rendering darker skin tones that often pops up online.

I know we all hear about AI all the damn time. I don't know if it's worse because I work in technology or not, but I'm sick and tired of it. There are practical use-cases for AI, like data processing to find trends or medical research and analysis. But in everything? Needing it to breath? Come on.

Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.

I work in a field where AI is heavily used and endorsed. Seeing it used to make "logos" or images for slides, repos, etc, is all very discouraging. My mental health is on a steady decline seeing this constantly. So I'll keep creating to build up some balance in my life at least. Small steps.

Let’s take a minute to talk about the colors on the disability pride flag. As I mentioned yesterday the flag was designed in 2019 and redesigned in 2021, by disabled activist Ann Magill. It features five diagonal stripes in red, gold, white, blue and green on a charcoal gray background.
