Remember everyone: this is the President that ran on eliminating waste, fraud and abuse. But much of what he’s done is create more waste, fraud and abuse.

It is the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. And no other President’s name belongs beside his.

Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 22h
Congress already provided hundreds of millions of dollars for repairs to the Kennedy Center. Those repairs should be carried out, the doors should reopen, and the building should keep the name it has carried for more than 50 years.

Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 22h
Everything that Trump has done to the Kennedy Center is an absolute insult to the legacy of President Kennedy.   JFK believed the arts were central to who we are as a nation. You don’t honor that legacy by holding his memorial hostage to get your own name on the building.

This Administration seems to be confused. The separation of church and state isn’t an attack on religion. It’s what protects everyone’s freedom to practice it. This is the government taking a side on religion, and that is a line the Constitution does not allow us to cross.

But the evidence showed he didn’t cause the damage. A flawed installation did. This case never should have gotten this far. No American should be dragged through the criminal justice system because of political pressure or to cover for someone else’s mistake. Congress needs answers.

Dismissed with prejudice. That is the ruling a judge just handed down in the case against David Hearn, permanently closing the door on this phony and vindictive prosecution.

Members of Congress, the President, the Vice President, Cabinet officials, and their families should not be able to trade individual shares of stocks. No ifs, ands, or buts. Bigger fines won’t fix it. We need a BAN. No loopholes. No special exceptions.
1185
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 01/10/2026
I don't trade individual stocks. I made that decision back in 2017 when I ran for Congress, before I'd even been elected. Public service and stock trading don’t mix.

The President does not get to just cancel $1 billion that Congress passed, and he himself signed into law without consulting Congress. It’s time to close this loophole once and for all.
0154
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 01/10/2026
Except Trump waited until there were only FIVE DAYS left in the fiscal year. He is denying Congress the opportunity to even make a decision, and it’s a clear violation of the Constitution.
1196
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 01/10/2026
Here’s how it’s supposed to work: if the President wants to cancel funding Congress already approved, he sends Congress a request. Congress has 45 days to approve or reject that request. If Congress says no, the President has no choice but to release it.

Trump & his Budget Director Russ Vought are now trying to get around all of that with something called a “pocket rescission."
261
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 01/10/2026
My Democrat and Republican colleagues and I on the House Appropriations Committee have spent the last year fighting over, negotiating, and deciding how every single dollar of this funding should be spent.
140
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 01/10/2026
This is ILLEGAL. Congress decides what gets funded, and the President is required to follow those decisions. That is NOT optional. And if you don’t believe me, take it from the Government Accountability Office, Congress’s non-partisan watchdog, who thinks it’s illegal too.

The Trump Administration owes Congress some serious answers about these deals. We need a full investigation on how they happened, who signed off on them, and whether they broke any laws in the process.

This Administration rushed into Venezuela’s notoriously corrupt gold industry, brokered deals tied to a supply chain riddled with gangs and corruption, and rushed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of gold into the U.S. that now no one wants to touch, while gangs are getting a cut of the profits.
1155
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 30/09/2026
So, they shipped all of this gold to the U.S. and guess what? Refiners don’t want to touch it. Why? Because whoever refines it has to be able to guarantee that gold wasn’t tied to gangs, corruption, or other illegal activity, and they can’t do that.
194
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 30/09/2026
After intervening in Venezuela, the Trump Administration tried to turn Venezuelan gold into a quick economic and geopolitical win. Except they didn’t do their homework. They didn’t confirm that the gold was clean. Now we know some of the gold is connected to local gangs.
163
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 30/09/2026
The U.S. has imposed sanctions on Venezuelan gold for years and for good reason: the industry has been tied to gangs, corrupt military officials, human-rights abuses, and illicit financing. So why is the Trump Administration importing hundreds of millions of dollars of it?
174
Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 30/09/2026
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America. Trump cut a deal with one of the most corrupt and violent gold mining companies in Venezuela, a company that the U.S. has designated a threat to our national security and one whose miners pay protection money to a local gang.

Then there are the natural disasters. More and more homes are being put at risk, and we're seeing it right here in California, where homes in Dana Point are on the verge of collapsing.

Forget about Jared Kushner's ties to the President for a second. When did it become acceptable for someone with ZERO diplomatic experience to lead negotiations between the United States, our allies, and our adversaries? That alone is insane.

Now, we’re two signatures away from forcing the House to vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act II, which would allow certain individuals to sue the Attorney General for failing to release the full Epstein files. What is Speaker Johnson so afraid of?

Rep. Mike Levin @levin.house.gov · 28/09/2026
How many times do we have to go around Speaker Johnson to get the missing Epstein Files released? We fought to pass the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the Justice Department is still withholding files.

Just in case it wasn’t clear, when they say the U.S. Government’s paying for this, that’s YOUR taxpayer dollars they’re using. I’ll say this as many times as I need to: it is ILLEGAL to use American taxpayer dollars from the government to pay for candidates’ or parties’ political ads.

Mike Johnson doesn’t want to do his job, and he won’t let the rest of us do ours. He keeps sending us home and blocking us from doing even the bare minimum. And what do Americans have to show for it? The LEAST PRODUCTIVE CONGRESS IN AMERICAN HISTORY.
