I love having time off. One more scene to write for my shorter wip then editing time!

Of course that would remind him. Well, Dimitri did have to share a wall with Sylvain in college. “Nope! I’ll be riding solo!”

“Hmph,” Felix uttered. “Probably for the best, we don’t want some random girl in the photos.”

That… hurt more than he expected. “Hey! Who said it would be a random girl?”

So while I hate cleaning and organizing in most situations I LOVE organizing cards, and as a treat to myself for the rough work month I completed my Ingrid cipher card collection 🥰 (I already had all Sylvains Dedues Ashes Felixes and Annettes)

Wip Wednesday still working on the sylgrid oneshot. Wanted to get it done before the new game but alas I didn’t have the time or the spoons. Hopefully it will be done next week when I finally take some time off!!!

It was only 8:45 when the doorbell rang. Sylvain stuffed the last of his eggs in his mouth and buzzed Byleth in, racing to Ingrid’s room to pull on his shirt. He tried to comb his hair in the mirror but Byleth knocked on the door before he could make any progress. It would just have to do.

He put on his brightest smile and opened the door for her. “Byleth! You’re early! Sorry Ingrid I still getting ready.”

“You’re here even earlier,” Byleth noted without missing a beat. She was always too observant.

“I promised Ingrid I would help out,” he said quickly, as he helped her move the comically large box of decorations to the kitchen island. “I wouldn’t dare to keep her waiting.”

Byleth gave him that all knowing stare. He never could hide anything from her even after all these years.

Wip Wednesday - took a break from the long fic to work on a modern au oneshot. Sylgrid get ready for the Mercedue wedding. Been puttering around some of these ideas all summer, but I think I finally found the missing link to tie it all together 😊

“Where are your spices?” Sylvain asked. He was trying to make a whitefish sauté for his newest girlfriend, and didn’t quite know his way around the kitchen yet.

“Top cabinet on the left,” Ingrid muttered from beyond the kitchen island, focus entirely elsewhere.

She stepped to the right twice and tried to slide forward while“Strength and Beauty”by Manuela and the Professors was on repeat in the background. Annette had choreographed a whole dance for Mercedes and Dedue’s wedding, and Ingrid insisted practicing it every free moment. Probably for the best - she was supposed to have stepped to the left twice.

Sylvain found the spices and blended them in a bowl. From the corner of his eye, he could see Ingrid stand still, deep in thought. “The next move is the bow and turn,” he advised.

Ingrid groaned and reset the song again. Sylvain oiled the pan, coated the fish, washed his hands and threw on an apron. He was about to start the burner when Ingrid reset the song again.

Wip Wednesday: still suffering at work and the little writing I did do was the END of a oneshot, so not what I want to share lol but I realize I never shared the beginning of my sylgrid longfic! So here’s theoretically the opening paragraphs ☺️

Sylvain sighed when his father entered his office. “Haven’t you heard of knocking? Anyway, I still need more time on the draft -”

“That’s not why I’m here. Galatea has had another poor harvest,” the Margrave stated the moment he stepped into his son’s office.

That was bad news for Ingrid and her family, but he didn’t understand where his father might be going with this. “Unfortunate.”

“Count Galatea has been left with no choice,” his father continued. “He must accept an offer for his daughter’s hand in marriage.”

Sylvain did not like where this was going.

“Either she accepts Viscount Menja’s offer…”

Sylvain’s blood ran cold. Menja was one of the farthest territories from Gautier in Fodlan. Worse yet, the formerly imperial Viscount was left without an heir after the war, leaving little doubt just what he would be after.

“…or mine.”

I’ve never gotten this one before?? All these Faerghans (Ingrid with this, Sylvain with his fine art interest, Felix with his clear love of singing etc) are way more into art than their knighthood culture allows them to express

I don’t have a sentence but I am particularly fond of how I write dialogue, and this scene from “You’re Making it Weird” still makes me giggle 😁

“Then what’s the problem?”

“What if they, I don’t know, get in a fight? Or break up?”

“Felix is too stubborn for that, and Dimitri cares so deeply, he’ll do anything to make it right. They won’t break up.”

Sylvain raised an eyebrow. “You sure about that?”

“Of course I am.”

“Uh-huh.”

“They won’t!”

Another drink later, Ingrid gripped his wrist. “They’re going to break up! Felix can be so stubborn, and Dimitri is such a pushover for those he cares about, they’re going to get into fights! Whose side are we going to take?!”

While my general headcanon is that the Sylvain Felix promise to die together was a Felix attempt to motivate an apathetic Sylvain to live, with the way he phrases his proposal to Byleth, it’s also very possible that Felix is just that intense about his special people 😂
