I am fully aware of this, and have written quite a bit about that (over on fediverse), but your question was in relation to AI usage, and answering it with a "actually, the issue isn't AI, it is capitalism" becomes a bit of "actually!!!!" arguments that is generally not a good idea to do.

I don't want to use AI because I hate the AI monster, but honestly, I also do not see any way it would actually help me, so while I keep being told that "AI can help you so much!" no one can actually provide any explanation as to how it would help me in a way that does not create more work later.

I wrote a "I f..ing hate AI!" post on fediverse, about how it is to be a dev that don't want to use AI, I got quite a lot of responses from other devs. It's hard to be vocal at work when it's seen as a "non-productive attitude" so one generally keep quiet about it there.

This. "I don't use AI to code for me, but as a tool to assist as I code" "ok, so can please explain this part of the merge request to me?" "Eh... let me ... fix that!"

I see the comments on how amazing AI is for coding all the time, and while it is no question that it can give something that seems usable up quickly, it is like building a house of cardboard boxes and claim you don't need carpenters anymore. For actual dev work, I have yet see AI prove helpful.

I honestly feel it is more a job security than anything superior. The amount of hours that will be required to tidy up this mess, grief, there will be so much work for so many. And the ones that never bothered to learn proper coding because "AI" will not be part of this.

A regular reminder that bluesky is not decentralized, at least not in any meaningful way. Also, responding to this message saying "it is, you idiot!", does not make it so, and only proves you don't want to learn why because you don't actually care...

Started buying music as mp3s again. From Qobuz and bandcamp. Use Jellyfin to stream music to phone / computer, etc. No subscription. Own the music.

(Swandog's osprey here) - you basically need to install a new operatingsystem on the phone, one of the "de-googled" android version. GraphneOS is "made for pixel", and there is LineageOS and e/OS that can be a bit easier to use and work on Pixel and a few other phones.

You cannot cure autoimmune illnesses with "diet and exercise". For some, it can help a bit, but a misguided immunesystem will continue to cause damage, and little else than medication can help. There literately is no cure, all these stories do is push guild on those that suffer. "Why don't you..."

On the topic of "billionaire-owned surveillance/fascist/"A.i." trash products", github is mentioned as an alternative? Github is Micrsoft. Copilot is an integral part of Github. Github is trash (I use it every day at work) This is kinda the place you want to avoid.

Some 60 years ago, a doggo got away from owner and ran down the landing part of the ski jump in Oslo, Holmenkollen, much to the amusement of the spectators that the dog reappeared several years, and other dogs later got the role to "run the hill", and even got a memorial statue for anyone to see.

But, sorry, that does not change the fact that you are ignoring science and are, like many others who find the science around this uncomfortable because of the implication, act like antivaxxers on the matter. Again, Read the f...ing science. Stop your abelism, and stop acting like an antivaxxer.

Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
My point is that you are ignoring scientific research... This is a common trait with meds against obesity and meds against ADHD. These meds are especially hard for people to admit how work, because they showcase that a lot of what we believed is psychological, isn't.
100
Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
Do you want a list of harmful side effects caused by not taking this med, if you need it? It is long. Very, very long.
000
Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
You could start by reading scientific research done on the subject. You would find there is a lot more consensus on this subject than you apparently believe. And the more research that is done on UPF, the scarier it gets. But cling to the idea of "psycological" and "addiction". Your abelism suck.

What "premise" do you disagree with? "you’re claiming those hormonal imbalances make weight lose impossible long term without meds" No,I am not "claiming that". Doctors that work full time with this, say this. Evidence based research states this. You know, the thing we call "scientific research"

You are way more likely to get astma if you live in a polluted city. I guess you could argue that living in a polluted city is cultural. But it sure isn't psychological. Non UPF is expensice AF in the US. Getting hormonal imbalance from UPF is not psychological. It is "eating what you afford".

Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
You are saying it is an addiction. You are saying it is psychological. Not producing the signalling hormone you need to feel full when you eat, and as a result, eating too much, is not an addiction. It is not psychological.

And, well, some populations do have more prevalence of the genes you need to have to develop diabetes type 2 (spoiler, diabetes type 2 is not just a "bad diet" thing like we were taught, it is genetic) www.nature.com/articles/s41... www.healthline.com/health/weigh...

"It’s psychological/cultural" - you call gnawing hunger pains caused by lack of signaling hormone "psychological/cultural"? wtf?? You don't think this is a major problem elsewhere? As diet preassure and UPF is a thing everywhere, it just has been wose in the US than elsewhere...

Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
Eating because you are hungry is not an addiction. Nor is obesity limited to the US, you don't think we use these meds in Europe? It is in part genetic, linked to diabetes type 2, but it is triggered, so yah, it could be avoided for many. But how tf do you avoid ultraprocessed food?

To anyone lashing out at people suffering from obesity: Obesity is a medical condition, caused by hormonal imbalance that makes you not feel full when you should. This med fixes a hormonal issue. To deny people a med that make them feel full as they should, is cruel.

This med fixes a hormonal issue that enables you to feel full again, the overeating causing obesity has nothing to with a food addiction, if it did, these meds would not work. You can read up a lill about how they work, and what the assumed causes for this condition is. The info is easy to find.
100
Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 27/12/2025
Yah, I am sure you probably know more about this than head doctors at the national obesity clinic but whatever. People with this condition are near always likely to gain back whatever they lost on a regular diet, and it is cruel to expect people that cannot feel full as they should, to "try harder"
100
Lett Osprey (they/them) @lettosprey.bsky.social · 23/12/2025
The issue is that you are raised on food that completely mess you up, resulting in a lack of signaling hormones that tells your brain that you are full. Issue is, once that is done, you need meds to fix the issue. You don't produce these hormones, you get obese. It is that simple.

Happy #PansexualPride Day!! 🩷💛🩵Here's something I drew awhile back for my hubbirb, @lettosprey.bsky.social. Ospreys have pan pride built right into their names: Pandion haliaetus! 😁 #DigitalArt #medibang #PanPride #PanFlag #osprey #FishSock #feathers #emblem
Digital art done on Medibang for my hubby, showing a smiling osprey head holding a golden flagpole in their beak. The "flag" is a fish-shaped windsock in Pan flag colors. Two osprey feathers, crossed at the barbs, surround the head in a circular emblem, with the words "Pandion Pride" on them. The background is a circular blue sky overlaying a square Pan flag.
