We don’t need to reform ICE. We don’t need alternatives to ICE. We don’t need to engage in dishonest debates wondering what the U.S. would do without ICE. ICE isn’t even 23 years old. Most adults know a world without ICE. And the billions used to fund ICE can be used to meet people’s basic needs.

Gavin Newsom can go insert himself inside himself. Whether he actually believes this crap or is just a craven coward, there's no excuse for this. Support trans athletes or get fucked. That's just me. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

I cannot get over how no one in mainstream politics even disputes factual claims like this. Everyone admits that Israel is starving children and murdering desperate civilians. The only ‘debate’ is about what to call it and whether the motives of people protesting it are pure enough.

“Defund the police” was in fact a great slogan.

Citizens United is among the worst decisions in Supreme Court history. It's allowed billionaires to completely take over our politics and destroy our democracy. There are days when we are reminded just how pernicious that ruling was. Today is one of those days.

this guy is out here proudly being a eugenicist freak while people at mainstream and "respectable publications" make excuses for him or even muse about whether he has a "few good points"

No one deserves detention. No one deserves deportation. No one deserves prison. No one deserves to be separated from their loved ones. No human is illegal. Free them all.

Today the @nytimes.com sought to whitewash its central role in laundering anti-trans falsehoods and turbocharging anti-trans attacks nationwide. My reporting showed that editorial leadership was aware of this depravity which is why this disingenuous piece can’t erase the scale of what they’ve done.

the first anniversary of henry kissinger’s death is a good time to revisit this interview i did with @attackerman.bsky.social about his righteous obituary for the heinous war criminal: www.thehandbasket.co/p/writing-an...
I had a conversation with my daughter who was like, “Why are people excited? So are you happy that this guy died?” And I was trying to talk about it in terms that I wanted her to take away from this. That it is a bad habit of the soul to celebrate anyone's death. But that emerges from our understanding of our humanity, what we owe to one another, the basic respect and dignity in viewing human lives as precious and in viewing them as valuable. And that's a contract. And there are gonna be some people, like Henry Kissinger, who break that contract at grand scale, and you don't have to be sad when someone like that dies. You can feel relieved. You don't want, in general, to be happy when people die. That is not a good way of being that will ultimately hurt you more than it will hurt them. But there are some people whose deaths come as a relief, and sometimes they come as a relief because justice was never served for the acts of such a person. And relief is the closest thing to justice that people will experience.

San Franciscan since 1980, regular user of public restrooms, probably shared them with more trans women than most people out there, also nothing to report. We're fine. Wrote about that four years ago. All still true. Damn this persecution. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
