Yggles is one of the voices pushing the Dems to stop campaigning on those things because they poll poorly, so when it comes to actually putting things like those into effect, it runs counter to the things they ran on and is an even heavier lift to get them passed

All I know is that while Trump may be a manifestation of so many of the problems we see in our country; it's people like Rob Wittman that are the soil that nurtures him and allowed him to grow like an invasive vine throughout our daily lives. It's time to cut and burn them out and plant new seeds

Lets talk about a specific election Virginia Congressional District 1 Shannon Taylor vs Rob Wittmann Rob is the Republican incumbent. Rob is trotting out the old scare tactics that his opponent is some kind of unsafe radical who wants to "Defund The Police"

got blocked the other day for saying that even when Trump gets a gone, the Republican party will have to change too the rot is deep, the pols dismissive, all their fear comes from the right, never the left or even "middle" there's a lot of work to fix this

There are new and specific numbers in this story, so it’s worth reading. I continue to resent the lack of credit to Nick Schwellenbach at @pogo.org, Dan Friedman at @motherjones.com, and me, who have previously reported every other aspect of this story, including that the sale prices were very high.

and yes, healthcare. inflation and gas prices do have an impact, but facts that are avoidable, that are not in their face and do not have immediate impact, are just ignored. we live in a siloed world where the majority of voters are not political sickos like us but are vibes-based voters

problem is, Trump is a symptom or catalyst, not a cause. even after he's gone, the Republican party of gerrymandering and the Southern Strategy-as-policy will still be around; the electoral college and the Senate will still exist as well

his mistake first mistake was not understanding Trump was going to be the Republican candidate and then reminding people who he was his second was thinking the media would do the job for him both with the admin's achievements and Trump deciding to run was a distant third

absolutely not. I live in Utah and have seen lots of affinity fraud, but I think identifying him as a grifter only places him in a different category I'm pretty sure his Seattle council run was an attempt to back door lots of things on the reactionary agenda

had we even had one more senator, maybe we would have gotten the Green New Deal instead of splitting it into the Inflation Reduction Act and there would have been even more immediate results from the Biden admin the bipartisanship of the 50s, 60s, and 70s is dead until the Republicans change

day 1 of my #artober list is FROG. i made this using tiled.art which is a really cool browser tool.
a square digital artwork shows a repeating pattern of the same frog tile, rotated to fit together, in the style of m.c. escher's tessellated drawings. the frogs are in a seated position, with huge circular eyes. they're in three shades of green with a dark outline.
