Yeah...HEA is unrealistic, because "Ever After" rarely stands the test of time. As long as your protag is finally heading in the right direction, making the right choices, that's real. And satisfying. HFN

As an author of genre-blend psychological realism with MCs who are darkly f**ed up, I'm all-in when an agent "wants to be surprised"🙂

It's time for ALL of us to "get the memo". They want to "divide [us] and conquer" -- this is how to show that WE have the ultimate power. READ and heed: open.substack.com/pub/robertre...

I made up an unusual name for a major #character, and just found out he's a real person -- Samir Osman is actually semi-famous! (can you spell "legal suit"?). SOooo... just a few changes, right?😮 #authorlife #writingcommunity #revision #Oops

Thanks to @womenwriters.bsky.social for the offer of #author #interview but Gavin took over & interviewed me! Which gave the character in DiMasi Family Trilogy the chance to get back at me I suppose... and helped me realize a few things about myself too! #booksky booksbywomen.org/gavin-omalle...

Hitler Dismantled a Democracy in 53 Days by using Germany's Constitution to break the constitution & its institutions. So don't kid yourself that our US Constitution & its institutions can serve as guardrails to stop the worst of Trump @occupydemocrats.bsky.social www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

A thread earlier today dissed someone who thought bird flu was spread through milk. Truth: "nearly 1,000 herds of dairy cattle have been confirmed to be harboring the virus. At least 66 Americans, most of them working in close contact with cows, have fallen sick" www.theatlantic.com/health/archi...

From our 2nd floor balcony, no zoom. The moon always "SEEMS" so close in San Miguel de Allende, as if we could touch it, play catch with it. We're at a latitude closer to the equator & at 6250 ft elevation. Why does the full moon seem to visit us more frequently than when we lived in the US? #magic.

My writing has gone into overdrive! I hadn't been getting completed REM-cycle sleep for months because our 18-yo blind cat kept getting me up many times per night. Her health finally forced us to put her to sleep. Now I have dreams, wake up w/chapters writing in my head, etc. But I do miss Sheba...

I *LOVE* that people are reaching out to connect on this escape away from X! It's helpful to check someone's profile when you reach out, before sending messages with questions that are clearly addressed in their profile.😉

my current #tbr Half through Emma Cline's 'The Guest' (its story of a woman on the brink, wrestling w/her #identity, is a #comp to my #wip 'Finding Harmony'), and finishing Maria Ressa's Nobel-winning 'How to Stand Up to a Dictator' (even more relevant now). Much more on my stack! #booksky
