The "extravagance of ordinary moments" How often I am amazed to have lived with #MBC for over 8 years. I have lived to see 5 of our grands graduate from high school and 1 from college. My goal has been to live long enough that they will all remember how much I love them. The youngest just turned 4.

Just chilling and enjoying a warm fire with the #furbabies. The real feel this morning is 2° F. Our crabby cat, Samson (20+ lbs), is trying to regain his inner Zen after a good brushing this morning. He has the thickest undercoat. He's fully clawed which can make grooming a little interesting.

January scans showed current #MBC treatment (Capivasertib and Fulvestrant) still effective. One new measurable spot in my lungs. Minimal progression of others in chest wall and lungs since starting in July. Mets to spine and hips still stable. Overall a win!

Feeling blessed. 4 months in on my new treatment plan of #fulvestrant and #capivasertib. Recent scans show no progression. Generic Zofran & Lotomil plus Immodium have minimized nausea & diarrhea so I can be more present for my family. 90 months since #mbc diagnosis I'm still here. #cancer #bestlife

As my #MBC has progressed, I have struggled to focus my eyes & brain to read. Encouraged by my niece, I started listening to audio books last fall. This year, I have listened to 31 books. Who knew a library card could bring so much joy! Just finished Home Front by Kirstin Hannah. #books

In the oncology waiting room, I listened to 2 young women reconnect over their breast cancer experiences. Both sounded encouraged that their cancers were successfully treated & were close to their 5 year mark. Encouraged to see women lifting women. Silently prayed for their cancer free future. #MBC

As of yesterday, I am fully loaded on my new #MBC treatment meds. Instead of every 2 weeks, the Faslodex injections will be monthly. The Truqap capsules will continue 4 days on and 3 days off. Labs looked solid. Now we just wait to see how well it works. #BestLife

When I imagine what the earth will look like for my grandchildren's children, it's a "Mad Max" landscape that I envision. This has only intensified under the policy changes of the current administration. Our grandchildren and future generations deserve so much better.
