I think once you get to a certain threshold of frequency and consistency it's more likely to throw your stuff into the algorithm, but that's horrifically demanding 🤮 and even then the audience is incredibly transient and passive and don't really care about you compared to other places

People need to learn when to use the fighter's smirk because if you keep having characters do the fighter's smirk at each other then it just starts feeling like when you're at school recess and the kid's keep no butting you while you play pretend... it's INFURIATING!!!

There's this thing in anime I have an irrational hatred for and it's where a shonen villain does a fighter's smirk like they've won and it's almost never earned because the protagonist will immediately also do the fighter's smirk and undo their plan and the villain goes WHAT... NO...

I end undergrad talks with the annoying 'comics advice' of: you have to sleep, you have to eat, you have to move your body in whatever way works for you, you have to engage with the world outside of your desk and outside of comics entirely. sleep is the foundation!! you can't compromise on that!!

One of my favorite things to do is just find someone who has their carrd in their adventurer's plate and just go down into incredibly deep social holes of ffxiv communities and niche group dynamics. It's like digging up ancient texts of a society I didn't know existed before.
