I experimented with this a little and noticed that everything but the score seems to be at least a bit random 😅

You'll quickly notice that it asks for a phone number. This is a bit annoying, but luckily, unlike WhatsApp, no one needs to know it. Instead, you create a username and share that. For example, mine's “Leovano.01”:

On mobile, it's even worse, because: 1. If you have the numeric row always enabled, the same issue applies 2. If you don't, then you can use the wrong layout instead (screenshot below) 3. Autocorrect won't save you here 😵‍💫

Oh, fair. I didn't realise that AOSP supported modes — that's a Samsung feature for centuries 😵‍💫 At least on our side, they always coexisted. The Modes option has just been given a new button on the extended Quick Action panel, which is useless but which I can't remove 😒

GitHub achieves the former in a fairly interesting way: If your username contains an underscore, it assumes that it's an account that uses SP-initiated SSO — otherwise, the traditional username/password combination is used.

A GC doesn't even matter here, as it never touches internal state. And even if it did, there's a big difference between an entry with an empty value and no entry at all: in the former, the entry itself still exists, so it *still* takes up space in the hash table. To think otherwise is insanity 😭
A NodeJS console session demonstrating the difference between setting an object property to undefined and deleting it. Initially, an object a is created with properties "a": 1, "b": 2, and "c": 3". Running Object.keys(a) and Object.values(a) outputs ['a', 'b', 'c'] and [1, 2, 3] respectively. After setting a.c = undefined, the keys remain ['a', 'b', 'c'], but the values update to [1, 2, undefined], indicating that the key "c" still exists. After deleting a.c, running Object.keys(a) returns ['a', 'b'], and Object.values(a) returns [1, 2], showing that the key "c" has been fully removed from the object.

It seems that higher-order functions for arrays in Crystal are indeed eager 😵‍💫 Fortunately, there's a proper way around this issue (just need to get an iterator out of it), but it's something that can take one by surprise.
The first image (left) shows a terminal session where a Crystal script (hello.cr) attempts to generate an infinite range (0..(1.0/0.0)), apply .map { |x| x }, and use .first(10). However, due to Crystal's eager evaluation, the program hangs upon execution. The user builds the script in release mode and runs it but has to terminate it manually (^C).The second image (right) shows a terminal session where the Crystal script (hello.cr) is modified to use .each before .map, converting the range (0..(1.0/0.0)) into an iterator. This change allows for lazy evaluation, preventing the program from eagerly iterating over the infinite range. The script successfully extracts the first 10 numbers and prints [0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9].
