Nine mathematicians including Gowers and Witten have formed an advisory group to manage OpenAI's release of unreported AI-produced math results. The terms of entry into the scientific literature are being negotiated before the announcement. hallway.aris.pub/no/027/

Turán's theorem, from edges to eigenvalues
Turán's theorem is the founding result of extremal graph theory: among all graphs on $n$ vertices with no clique on $r+1$ vertices, the balanced complete multipartite graph has the most edges. We pres...

New paper: "The Cost of Representing Higher-Order Dynamics on Graphs" Can graphs represent group interactions? Yes, but graphs pay a parsimony cost when compared to using hypergraphs. Addresses recent work by Peixoto et al., Moutuou, and Lacasa. scroll.press/2026/graph-hypergraph-dynamics-cost
Diagram with two panels. Left panel labeled "As structures" shows nested ellipses: DynHyp (outermost) contains DynHyp_focal, which contains DynGraph, which contains DynHyp_flat (dashed). DynHyp_NFS sits separately inside DynHyp. Right panel labeled "As trajectories" shows a single ellipse: DynGraph = DynHyp. The structural hierarchy on the left collapses to equivalence on the right.

arXiv isn't valuable because of its codebase, but for thirty years of papers, citations, and trust that researchers deposited into it. You can have AI generate code - you can't AI-generate trust. Wrote something about what software is worth when building it is near free. aris.pub/blog/softwar...

What Is Software Worth When Anyone Can Build It? - Aris
AI has made code nearly free to produce. Two things remain that no model can generate: how software feels to use, and the trust people build inside it over time.
