I know the games are utterly worthless but I freakin love NBA preseason. Very pumped to see Egor Demin, who appeared to have taken a step forward at Summer League. Also super curious about Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson who I didn't get to see much of at Vegas SL.

The @hoopsjunkie.io playoff series predictions are updated after each game in the series page. As an example, you can see that after game 1, the Valkyries series win probability climbed from 54.4% to 70.9%. Before the series began, the model has Valkyries in 5 as the most likely outcome.

This was such a nice move from Angel. Critical point of the game as New York had cut the lead to 5. She's tough as nails. Copped a JJ forearm in the chest and face yet still finished strong.

A big factor in Minnesota's struggles was the Olivia Miles failed to impact the game in any meaningful way. She was 4-20 from the field and had just two assists to five turnovers. A tough end to a stellar rookie season.

Minnesota Lynx finished their season 2-4 with losses to Golden State, Atlanta, New York and Indiana but I really thought they would find another gear and lift. Looking at the shooting numbers, the restricted area is where New York had the obvious edge. MIN <---> NYL

The other relevant lens for New Orleans in particular, is the Apron view, where New Orleans currently has $5.7M in space. The sizeable unlikely guarantees of Jordan Poole ($3.75M) and Dejounte Murray ($2.4M) count against the apron, but not the tax.

By hiding non-guaranteed contracts we can see that New Orleans are $3.8M below the tax. Trendon Watford's contract is partially guaranteed for only $250K so he could theoretically be waived, though a much more likely candidate is AJ Johnson who has $3.2M guaranteed.

On each @hoopsjunkie.io team page you can see a team's salary through a couple of different lenses. Default is the tax view which the majority of teams try to avoid. Here is New Orleans who currently have 15 guaranteed contracts and three camp invitees.

It has been fifteen days since I submitted the HoopsJunkie iPhone app for review. It has been flagged for "containing gambling features" due to the NBA Draft Lottery Simulator. So frustrating since I've made explicit attempts not to include gambling content of any kind in HJ.
