As anyone who had the opportunity will tell you, working for Alan Burnett was a tremendous pleasure. He is a brilliant storyteller, a superb show runner, and a kind and generous person. Story premises came about in many ways: from Alan, or from written or verbal pitches, or from studio mandates.

Hi, kid1413. There were no staff writers on Ben 10. Those of us who worked on the series did so on a freelance basis. The "2nd episode" thing was not planned; that's just how it timed out. All of the directors were terrific, and enhanced every script I wrote.

Re: Con of Rath, no trivia, but I had lotsa fun writing it. Glen Murakami is a superb artist and great producer. I worked for Dwayne McDuffie on AF & UA and Charlotte Fullerton McDuffie & Matt Wayne on OV. All top people. I wrote 16 Static Shocks for friend & mentor Alan Burnett, 1 The Batman, etc.

Thanks for your kind words. As to your questions, I haven't any good answers. Your guess is as good as mine.

Hi, Jabersson. I'm afraid I don't remember the intent, but my guess is, George. The rationale behind many of the plot points probably came from the late, greatly-missed Dwayne McDuffie, our show runner. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I was fortunate to work for Dwayne McDuffie on two Ben 10 series; he was a terrific writer and showrunner. My favorites include Con of Rath, Moonstruck and Catch a Falling Star -- each one's in a different genre because Dwayne loved to push boundaries and encouraged his writers to do the same.

I'm happy to report that I just signed with Evan Anglin at Zero Gravity Management. He'll work with my agent of 24 years (!) Jason Dravis, as we seek out new life and new civilizations -- no, check that -- new gigs and new kinds of employment. I'm excited to begin this next phase of my career!
This is a repost from Instagram about writer Len Uhley signing with Evan Anglin at Zero Gravity Management. Evan will work with Len's longtime agent, Jason Dravis, to seek out new opportunities in animation and live action.

Bill, "The Sehlat Who Ate Its Tail" is my favorite episode of the season. Congratulations to you and David Reed for a riveting and thought-provoking script, and to the entire cast and crew for a superb production.

The Synthroid in Moonstruck was inspired by The Terminator, but I’d say he’s more like the former, an alien robot “race/species.”

My guess is, the gunship, but whatever feels right to the viewer is the correct answer. Dialog choices like this are often made up as we go along.

Senator Maggie Hassan: “So, Secretary Noem, what is habeas corpus?” Secretary Kristi Noem: “Well, habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the President has to be able to remove people from this country.” Also, “War Is Peace. Freedom Is Slavery. Ignorance Is Strength.” #Doublespeak

I am saddened to read of Joe Biden's aggressive prostate cancer diagnosis with metastasis. Add to that the nonstop coverage of the tsk-tsk book about his mental state during his term, co-authored by erstwhile journalist Jake Tapper, and seriously, that family cannot catch a break.

Ben/Alien X was able to recreate the Universe *after* the Annihilarrgh detonated. So, that's probably a no. But as I've said to others (unless all of these Ben 10 questions I get are coming from one person with a lot of aliases), that's only my opinion. Your results may vary.

Yes, this is my script (how did you get a copy?), so apparently at the time, the show runner Dwayne McDuffie and I thought he could go FTL. Other show runners, like Matt and Derrick, felt differently. It isn't a matter of right or wrong, just personal taste. Besides, this is all make-believe, right?

As Russia's war against #Ukraine intensifies, #PorcelainWar is essential viewing. Part art film-part war movie, it underscores humanity's creative spirit & careless cruelty. Slava Leontyev, one of its filmmaker-"stars," and US director Brendan Bellow did a Q&A after. See this Oscar-worthy film ASAP.

According to a disturbing article in @theatlantic.com, many tech companies are scraping dialog from TV and film scripts to train their AI, using The OpenSubtitles Data Set. I ran a search and found some of my most popular scripts. Glad you like the writing, guys, and I mean that sarcastically.
The image shows 18 writing credits for Len Uhley which have been used to train AI. The scripts include two DuckTales episodes, three X-Men: The Animated Series episodes, the home video feature "An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island," one episode of X-Men: Evolution, two episodes of Justice League, one episode of Wolverine and the X-Men, and one episode of Iron Man: Armored Adventures.

When rattling on about my origin story, I describe it as "Two cops, one of whom was a robot," which usually gets a laugh. I was way too young and inexperienced, but it was a first (shared) credit, so I was glad to have it.
