Who's seen all three types of solar eclipses? 🌑 Total   ⭕ Annular   🌙 Partial   On 12 august you've got a chance to see a total solar eclipse or a partial one, depending on where you are. 1/3 🔭 🧪 #EuropeanSolarEclipse
This infographic, titled 'Types of solar eclipse' presents three different solar eclipses. Running from left to right, a total solar eclipse looks like a dark circle surrounded by a glowing circular ring. At the centre an annular solar eclipse, which is also a dark circle surrounded by a ring, but the ring is more solid and thicker on one side. On the right a partial solar eclipse, which is a yellow crescent-shape. The ESA logo sits at the top right of the infographic.

Last week, we announced that #ESA and the #Euclid Consortium released a massive image of the #MilkyWay's heart. This 'Q2' data release contains images of 60 million stars. A great primer on this image comes from the EC's Chris Pattison: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfU_... #ESAEuclid #astronomy #space

🥁🥁🥁 New Euclid image coming  In 1995, astronomers turned Hubble to a seemingly empty patch of sky. The now famous Hubble Deep Field turned back with 3000 galaxies. Now, astronomers have done the opposite.  🔭 🧪☄️ 1/2

No less than 60 million stars in one image. It's possible thanks to ESA's Euclid mission. For just one day, Euclid turned its gaze to the crowded heart of the Milky Way and captured the largest, most detailed photo ever taken of our galaxy's centre in visible light. Let's dive deeper 👇 🔭 🧪 ☄️ 1/8
A dense field of tiny stars fills this square image taken by the European Space Agency’s Euclid space telescope. The lower and central areas are dominated by bright yellow and gold colours, forming a textured background similar to fine glitter or sand. Dark brown and black patches cut irregularly through the yellow regions, like ink stains or clouds of smoke. Toward the upper left, the colours shift to purple and reddish tones, blending gently into the surrounding star field. Small blue points of light are scattered across the image.
