Was looking into what Cognitive Scientists mean by ‘domain-general’ cognition, and then hit upon this. This is definitely NOT how we use that term. Tip: read the last sentence to understand what went wrong here. Sigh.
Domain-General Cognitive Ability
In subject area: Psychology
Domain-general cognitive abilities refer to cognitive skills that are not unique to humans but are present across various primate species and potentially other mammals and birds, indicating a general factor underlying cognitive performance that correlates with brain size and is associated with selective attention and working memory capacity.

In this paper, I argue that the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and education have been deeply intertwined since the early days of AI. Specifically, I show that many of the early pioneers of AI...

How systematic are systematic literature searches 🔍 ? ERIC: solid (watch those quotation marks!). PsycINFO via platforms ≠ direct searches. Web of Science: Highly variable results. Reporting full search hits is necessary. Read more about our little study here: doi.org/10.33683/did...

Excited to share findings from a collaborative, long-term effort on testing the idea of a spiral curriculum (with a team from ETHZ, PH-FHNW, and PHSZ)! 🪢 Early physics instruction in elementary school shows promise, helping students slightly more in advanced physics later on. doi.org/10.1037/edu0...
