This is the reason I stopped giving neighborhoods the benefit of the doubt. They pull shit like this all the time and advocates are supposed to “work with them” or “take their concerns serious”.

It's funny how Zohran won by having a bunch of ambitious, concrete, and memorable policies and the lesson most dems took was "I just have to say Affordability more"

MTS should be offended tbh. Spend decades building a rail system that is a North American standard, has the best ridership recovery in the covid era, and has been optimized to serve Petco and the Convention Center, and then the County says “we need your parking garage to get more people downtown”.

Can we stop pretending that if parking was free/cheap it would also be available? The cheaper parking is, the more people drive … www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/s...

San Diego County owns the Ash Street Parking and Cedar-Kettner garages in or near Little Italy, and co-owns the James R. Mills Building near Petco Park in the East Village.

If we had actual enforcement this would be easy. Waymo either pays the fine and the class action lawsuit resulting from injury or not block in the bike lane. Free market baby. It pisses me off that people in this country are so horny for law and order, except when it comes to traffic law.

NIMBYs in Del Mar have pushed SANDAG to add *another* alternative to the Del Mar Tunnel EIR - now not set to finish until 2028, 3 years after the draft. Rather than the 110 mph alignments that would tunnel under their town, their preference is to slow down the US's #2 rail corridor to 25 mph.
Project Alternative alignments for the Del Mar tunnel, showing the Northern Yellow Line alignment which bypasses Del Mar with a sharp 25 mph curve to run along I-5. Other, straighter alignments run under Del mar

Because we hit 50 let’s put this in perspective. This video was recorded on Thursday January 30th around 4:30pm. The green light lasts for 35s and the red light for 100s. So a little more than 25% of the time you’ll have a green light. Which means the bus is over performing with 42%.

It’s almost as if NIMBYs don’t care about first responders and only use it as a talking point when it helps them to oppose bike lanes.
