My dad worked for Chevy when I was a kid. They gave him a new one to drive every six months. I can attest to the gradual quality decline from the late sixties into the early 80’s when he retired. I’ll never own one newer than 1979.

Drove across OR-58 from US-97, up from Klamath Falls, OR, heading to Lynden, WA, for tomorrow evening delivery. Beautiful scenery, easiest mountain crossing I’ve done in a long time. Had 50k lbs of raw milk in a tanker. Here’s some obligatory truck porn:

My favorite thing about stopping in Weed is that there’s a grocery store across the street. They do ~30% of their business from the truck stop. Other chains should take a hint.

Could you trap a vampire in your house if you invite him in, and once they cross the threshold, you jump outside and declare that you are now a resident of the outdoors and that is your house and they can’t come out of that building into your house unless they ask permission.

I damn near ran over a car doing 53 in a 75 (I was doing 79…) here on I-40 in Arizona today. He had Cali plates and that straight arm “I’m waaay too high to drive” (not that I’d know what that is… 😏) grip on the wheel.
