Last month, I shut down the business I spent 3 years building. The entrepreneurship journey has been quite exciting—from winning six-figure deals to raising money to breaking up with a cofounder, I've experienced it all. Not sure what's next, but I'm confident I'll be starting something new soon!

Today's HelloQuery dev logs... [ ] Embedding with tenancy works beautifully! I had to change a model from a has_one to a has_many, so need to update all the tests (there are a lot of tests) I am experienced enough to *know* not to use has_one yet I do it anyway b/c I'm ALWAYS sure it will be fine 😆

Do I know any great Rails developers who have time to build tenant isolation on a mysql query next week? Context: Right now I use pg_query to break AI generated queries into ASTs and traverse the nodes to confirm the tenant_id is on every table, subquery, join, etc. I need the equivalent for mysql

🛠️ Do you use ChatGPT to write SQL? here are some (non obvious tips) to get better SQL from AI tools: 1️⃣ less is more Keep the list of tables available short and focused. 2️⃣ but.....more is more Provide as much metadata as possible. Context like column names and table relationships helps a lot!

If I were explaining HelloQuery to a 5-year-old, I’d do it like this: You need information to run your business. The information is only available in the Martian language. Your boss and customers don't want to learn Martian. HelloQuery translates from "normal people speak" to Martian.
