Accessibility is just one of many reasons the us of AI in academic presentations should be opposed. The preference of form over content tends to make text smaller and harder to read. Pretty moving patterns might look appealing, but tend to be distracting especially to short-sighted and ADHD people.

I wholeheartedly second that. I personally transcribed and translated all the interviews in my PhD. This got me deeply immersed in the data, even before I actively started the process of analysis. Transcription, which involves listening and typing, also uses different brain functions to reading.
