#sapphicseptember #wlw Planet Sauria explores Black ethnicity and how we build and expand Black culture based on shared experience in the Maafa (chattel slavery). the main characters of Planet Sauria are all Black, but their parentage gives each character a unique perspective on their Blackness

Without going on too much of a ramble, the fun part of the Black Archives series- of writing Planet Sauria- is learning about global Blackness- the positive nature of Blackness and how it shows up in cultures all over the world and is associated with progress and innovation.

The second pov follows Layton, a Black African(mali-Dogon), beside Warr and Tarton, two Black 'Americans'-who have their shared values because their Mother's are Black- Maafa connection- but their Father planets Mercury, Jupiter and Satyrn infuse key cultural differences that inform their ethnicity.

100

Itmb.ld.rose @leedleo.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

the split pov follows Ritu, a Black Indian woman with her Black Fillipino crewmate- their Mother's were both Black, but their cultural and ethnic differences arise from being born on their Father's planets- the Martian Moon Phobos and the planet Venus, respectively.
