I get that cryptocurrency isn’t a literal Ponzi scheme, so that’s a fair criticism. But we didn’t (and still don’t) have a good term to describe what still very much is a financial scam: early birds produce tokens from thin air, their gains come from later buyers. No productivity involved anywhere.

Took on my first little programming project in a while, building my wife a small website. Used Middleman (the Ruby static site generator)... holy moly what a pleasant experience. I originally reached for Hugo and just had a miserable time with version / theme incompatibility, getting I18n to work...

I think the UX can be a bit finicky—it’s like a 20 year old app. But the people building it are actually really upstanding folks who all use the product themselves. They don’t have any investors or sketchy incentives to invade your privacy.

Former RWGPS dev here. They do have pretty extensive privacy settings. You can make everything totally private, friends-only, or public. And they have track privacy zones which can obfuscate your start / end point locations.
