the silmarillion kind of reminded me of the semi-dramatised accounts of ancient chinese history where there are about 100 different heavenly princes doing noble battle with each other i need to remember all the names of for it to make sense

it feels so much easier when youre tired as hell from work to put off the plan but i believe on the scheme that you should implement a harsh maoist 5 year plan for the next segment of your life. its ok to take calculated risks ☝️🧠 🤝

the only thing not driving me crazy is knowing exactly when is probably a good time to quit. but still. so so mind numbing

unfortunately top surgery is £10k which is why i needed stable money and quickly but once thats over my artistic escape plan looks a lot more realistic

i do wonder how much of that is just traditional art classes in school and that kids underestimate how little black paint you actually need before it makes a somewhat irreversible mess

i rly recommend it for drawing on ipad its very satisfying. also i got a third party pen nib with a transparent casing and the nib itself is thinner. personally i think the apple pencil nib is too fat / harder to see what ur doing

leckuth @leckuth.bsky.social · 06/01/2026

yeah that's understandable in recent years ive been doing ipad sometimes too. you have a paperlike screen protector?

i think i used to have the intuous youre talking about i now use the slightly newer version with it. yeah it should be fairly easy also to set up the ipad to work with your computer in that way. with the old intuous is it just too kaput?

New trio release on Marginal Frequency out on December 9th with Mia Windsor and Anthony J. Stillabower. Really thankful for Al putting this out, think it's the best work we did in that trio. Also thanks to Martin for the super cool illustration! marginalfrequency.bandcamp.com/album/locked...

been thinking about music in relation to this a lot. one formula i struck on is how similar the 4 panel comic structure feels to the formula of 4 on the floor 'dance' music being so incredibly diverse but all still sticking to this restriction to communicate to its tradition / scene

playing fallout or whatever. i wonder how many people interacted with it with a vague tongue in cheek knowing of the styles right wing history but that most people probably wouldnt know molino well enough to connect the dots to explicit fascism based on the art in the post alone

leckuth @leckuth.bsky.social · 17/07/2025

yea id be up for reading that! i am quite familiar with pulps facist undertones i read a lot of 50s/60s pulp as a kid lol. i would like to hope most people interacting's media literacy extends to understanding that, even with just the on the nose parodies of it theyve probably experienced in like.

the ultimate tease when he did those two tracks with danny elfman... his ambient era feels like he got embarrassed of his whiny theatrical lyrics but im starting to feel like he needs to lean into his drama queen self in a new way again

feel like i am usually most interested when its a mixture of texture resolutions, like its trying to draw attention to itself that this is not a cohesive window into another world

070

leckuth @leckuth.bsky.social · 02/06/2025

id like game devs to keep moving more away from pixelated/aliased visuals. theres an insecurity to hiding behind all-rough edges needlessly. cousin of those airbrush paintings. is difficult cos the texture itself has unique qualities & something to say but has been the face of anachronism 4 a while
