brain rot - but the good, permaculture-y kind. Soft moss, lichen and mycoremediation (mushroom emoji) taking hold of a decomposing society might mean a better future. Mpls for 33 years, NE MN for now bsky platform skeptic. 🐘 leanside.org/@kjell

same thing is rubber-stamped by @minneapolismn.gov on Franklin Ave SE between Thornton and I94. Official signage erases the bike lane for two blocks, Saturdays 4-7pm and Sundays 8am-12pm. Because church-goers need parking more than cyclists need safety. On a transit corridor no less
image of a street from the perspective of a road user, facing uphill on Franklin Av SE in Minneapolis just before crossing I-94. The side of the roadway and gutter features a painted bike lane. A pole anchored in the furnishing zone between roadway and sidewalk holds two parking signs.

Top: "Speed Limit 25". The second stipulates "Disabled parking - vehicle ID required. Up to $200 fine for violation" pointing downhill. Third: "No Parking EXCEPT 4-7PM SATURDAY and 8AM-NOON SUNDAY" pointing uphill, indicating parking pre-empts the bike lane during those hours

fixed - they're here for the right reasons and have history doing good work in real life and thru social media
screenshot of a bsky thread on why straw is an excellent building material and how the "big bad wolf" joke is problematic. Full text:

K says: Straw is a great building material, but the industry shuns it for products dealt by the fossil fuel companies. FF big-cos have co-opted the entire industry supply chain and mind share, leading to the Grenfell disaster (a petrochemical foam inferno[1]) and the swiss night club (foam again)

K: Straw leads to a healthier indoor environment and greatly reduces the embodied carbon and toxicity footprint of buildings. Straw facilitates super insulated buildings, further reducing the need for ongoing fossil fuel emissions in heating/cooling.

A: i was making a dumb joke at 4AM

K: sorry to go off - it'd be a good joke if it wasn't the exact same disinfo actual fossil fuel operatives have been saying for years to undermine an extremely necessary transformation of the built environment

A: i am a climate adaptation girly, I should have known better. deleted
