Scrungaloid, by Erika Chappell, is a tabletop wargame about titular Scrungaloids, fighting each other over scraps, other unimportant reasons, or just hating each other.

In addition to Battletech/Mechwarrior, I really adore the Homeworld games. In fact, so much that I’ve made PC big boxes for Deserts of Kharak and Homeworld 3 to finish my collection.

The Mech was airbrushed, house insignia was painted freehand. Thought you might like to see a few photos of the lovely painting Edd209 did here. This model will be publicly on show at Spiel Essen games expo in Germany this weekend as part of the Catalyst Game Labs stand - be sure to check it out!

I recently had the pleasure to see this impressive display piece painted by my friend Edd209 - a super-sized BattleTech Gothic Rifleman in House Steiner colours. This is an official upscaled 3D print of the model from the new BattleTech: Gothic boxed set and stands over a foot (30cm) tall.

It was indeed.... of course I might of had a few "extra attempts" to get the rare Shuriken Catapult 😇 Fun fact: the hands are from an Eldar Dire Avenger (which metal model may of been sacrificed to the Wolf-time). Pls don't tell Obi-wan Sherlock Clousseau!

Classic miniatures, huh? Here's a Martian Metals Ogre Mk. V, sculpted by Forest Brown in 1979.

A hulking Ogre Mk V miniature, a massive autonomous tank bristling with cannons and missiles. It's painted a two-tone desert scheme.

The same Ogre from the previous shot, only in natural light.

1/ In the mid-eighties, Games Workshop was going to enter into a licensing deal with USA-based company FASA to produce a range of miniatures for their BattleDroids game (later BattleTech). It never came to pass, but 3 tester models were done and later sold by GW as 'Slocombe's Warbots'.

Welcome to the club of accurate optics! 🤓 It's a great special power for modelling, not only is everything in crystal clear focus, it's also slightly magnified. That's a win-win in my book.

3) Changed it's stance and agreed with me. Essentially, the AI had never seen and / or understood the meaning of what's in Inferno on this subject matter. Now, I was acting in good faith here and being truthful, but it was crystal clear how an AI could be manipulated by feeding it inaccurate info.

Leakycheese @leakycheese.bsky.social · 02/08/2025

2) Points of a certain small part of the community that didn't like the idea supported by one bit of info from a 40K source book. I then challenged it on this based on the source material in Horus Heresy Book Seven: Inferno (i.e. the then only foundational Custodes background) and it immediately -

1) And AI is so easily manipulated through how it interfaces with its knowledge base. I did an experiment with ChatGPT at the time of women Custodes being announced. I asked it if there were any women Custodes in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. In response it essentially repeated a lot of the....

Samis is one of the most dynamically posed miniatures I've ever own and incredibly detailed. It definitely feels like a warp entity made real, with all sorts of peculiar features. Subtle nods to each of the 4 chaos gods in the sculpting! Very hard to photograph, best appreciated in the resin.

Samus is here! This infamous villian of the Horus Heresy series is now complete. Sculpted by Trish Carden of Forge World, this was a lot of fun to build. Painting: fleshwork and spines by Popcorn Gen, sword, base and details by @noxpainting.bsky.social I'm very pleased with how it turned out!

Update: Looks like it's an.... acceptable day for the Iron Hands. The Gorgons get their pew-pew back. Also, Imperial Fists no longer infiltrated by Alpha Legion for Bastion Fire is both a necessity for balance, and a loss for game high-jinks.

2/ It really isn't difficult to get this right, and by being inconsistent it then just creates antagonism for those who are on the wrong side of the edition. GW is asking for a big chunk of cash here in exchange for something I'm not really sure many people wanted. List Snafus aren't a good look.

010

Leakycheese @leakycheese.bsky.social · 11/07/2025

1/ If I'm paying £200+ for a new set of rulebooks, I'm kinda expecting these to get the basics right. If certain squads have the equipment kitbash options preserved from last edition e.g. Terror Squad, then why not others e.g. Angel's Tears, Gal Vorbak, Gorgons, Medusan Immortals?

110

Leakycheese @leakycheese.bsky.social · 11/07/2025

That's not an oversight on the Gorgons.... it's just sloppiness. And it's not just the Combi Bolters either, what about people who made them with power and chain fists or graviton guns? Not sure why Destroyer Squads are missing from the list either? That seems deliberate. Also what about this guy?

100

Leakycheese @leakycheese.bsky.social · 10/07/2025

Just looking at the Iron Hands Gorgons.... they can't even take all the weapon options you get in the kit 🙃 Oh well, who needs Combi Bolters? Guess we'll just use harsh language instead 😂

Leakycheese @leakycheese.bsky.social · 10/07/2025

Have the wargear options been removed? I ask as the only legion specific unit I've seen thus (Lernaean) far has all the same options as in 2.0.
