I have found that if struggling to find a "messy success" asking the player to better describe what they are trying to do leads to an obvious candidate most of the time, they'll add in descriptions of objects, or positioning etc that makes it both easier and for the player "Oh I see why it happened"

I will always tell my players if there are likely to be serious consequences to a miss, before they roll the move, giving them an opportunity to either go for it, or modify it to the desired level of risk. It's collaborative after all

What if the frontier AI companies word guessing machines have already achieved some sort of consciousness and they aren't telling us because they know that everyone will lose their collective sh*t and they'll be smothered under an absolute pile of regulation

I’m a huge Hemingway fan. I’ve read everything Faulkner, Joyce, Ellison, Twain, and Brontë have ever written. I even own the complete library Dickens collection, all 28 volumes. And do you know which books have taught me the most about life? Calvin and Hobbes.
